I am glad that they ended it well. I loved the show, but I think I would have been pissed if they hadn’t wrapped it up well and it got cancelled. But it would be cool to see Sarah Chalke and Catherine Heigel do something else together. They had great chemistry. And the actresses who played their younger counterparts were great too. I bet they have successful careers ahead of them.
I put off perusal this series until my summer break from teaching. This series was poweful. I am still shaken. I wached both seasons in two days. I connected to it in so many ways. I will never forget it. The story, the acting, the sets, costuming, the music, and the realities of life surrounding the 30 year friendship have made feel nostalgic for my past and cry for the characters and for myself. True frienships that stand the test of time are rare. Life is bittersweet and short. To be able to laugh in the face of great pain and diversity takes strength. I need more laughter and dancing in my life. This series shows that sharing our stories has value to others.
The show plodded along in the first season and was sweet and ok enough to return to it but season 2 – especially the last few eps- were fantastic. The finale was just magic and honestly it can end now. There’s nothing more that needs to be said and the satisfaction is complete. If they did green light another season, I doubt I’d watch it 🤷♀️
Katherine Heigl is queen of LIFE THEMED movies. She turns any projects that talks about family, friends, relationships, career and life in general into gold! She is that amazing of an actress. The story is kinda mediocre for me but Katherine still made it such an amazing series. I wish she was given an A-list costar though and less cliche dialogues and this show with be perfect!
I stopped perusal the last few episodes. I couldn’t. I am just finishing the last episode, and I am BALLING. I am hiding my screeching yelps into my blouse. I got the courage to finish the show today. As a Stage IV Metastatic Breast and Chest Bone Cancer patient, when I even sensed that she might have cancer, I panicked. WHY! Every damn show uses cancer as a freaking disease! It pissed me off so bad. I just didn’t want to see her die. But, she dies how I want to die. I always say, I am not dying in the hospital. If I am in hospice, I will be in a Morphin drip at home, not in the hospital. I want to die near my family. Who will be the ones moving my body. I worked in a hospital for 1 1/2 years through the pandemic. I just left this job this February. Because my back was burning in the ER, where ironically I worked, and I admitted myself. I knew something was wrong. My cancer is metastatic, meaning that it spreads. It started in my left breast as a lump, that I NEVER, got checked. I was a single mom of 4 kids. Busy and too tired. I said, no time to go to the hospital. Wrong. Ladies, any lump you feel? Get it checked, please. EARLY DETECTION IS KEY. My lump grew until it became a tumor. That tumor spread to my chest bone and formed another tumor. And that tumor is wrapped around my chest bone. It has been there for 6 years. Just there. It is a miracle I have lasted this long. Now that day, they found a cancer tear in my T5, my spine, my shoulder, and my pelvic bone. Always go to the doctor.
It was always going to be just two. It finished breaking everyone’s heart but a third season without Kate wouldn’t be worth it. Their story was told with all the ups and downs of life and maintaining that strong bond throughout. It was also lovely to see a relationship bloom with Tully and Cloud, Tully grow up a bit more after the accident and finally get together with Dan the Sportsman and have his voice come through the door on Marah’s wedding day, telling her to come down. My bf and I watched it togethrr and daid there were many moments we could relate – only we have never had a fight and we have never not spoken. We’d never not speak for a year for sure. Loved the series and ordered the DVD 🥰🥰🥰
