What is the point of Wedding Crashers?
Movie review. John and Jeremy are divorce mediators and best friends. They live for wedding season in Washington, D.C. Are they hopeless romantics? No. Womanizers? Yes. They follow a set of rules for crashing weddings. They assume new identities every weekend and look for bridesmaids to bed. The idea is that women at weddings are romantic, so they’re more likely to have sex with a charming stranger. After a busy season, John is tired and feels like he’s not a bad person, but he’s not sure what to do. Jeremy gets him to go to one more wedding, the biggest of the year. Things get complicated when they break their own rules and agree to spend the weekend with the Cleary family and Claire’s aggressive boyfriend, Zach.

📹 Everything Wrong With Wedding Crashers In 22 Minutes Or Less
Wedding Crashers was a huge hit and continues to be popular today. It maybe didn’t age very well, but what from this era did?
🙄 A lot of social justice warriors in these comments…..Acting like the 2000s were trillions years ago and how “wrong” everything was back then. As already mentioned by a very popular journalist……..with the exception of internet and smartphones, we are – for better or worse – the same as we were in the 90s and early 2000s. So let’s have a better perspective of time and ourselves. Let’s stop trying to destroy or undermine everything we’ve created in the past and stop acting like 2005 was centuries ago.
The movie’s realistic. Most people would like these guys in their parties, most girls would fall for their cheesy sentimentality, society is full of these bullshits. But again, what is society? It’s just an imaginary set of rules and connections created for these same shallow and sentimental people. Do you guys think we are just one large group as humanity? Why would people find something cute, and others toxic? If it’s just culture and history, why can some of us feel baffled from childhood by the same customs many conform?
So wait – when women have agency on whom they have intimacy with in films or tv, they’re independently exploring their sexuality – heck, “Sex and the City” had four female protagonists do this every week, and for the most part monogamy wasn’t their goal. However, when male characters have consensual sex in film with multiple partners it’s seen as “toxic,” WTF…
