Why No Here Comes The Bride In Lutheran Weddings?

The Bridal Chorus, a popular choice for wedding ceremonies, is often banned by the Roman Catholic Church and conservative-leaning Christian denominations like the Lutheran Missouri Synod due to its secular nature and lack of a processional to the altar. The song was first performed in 1850’s opera Lohengrin, where it was used in a wedding scene between characters Elsa and Lohengrin. However, some members of the Roman Catholic Church and more conservative-leaning denominations still question its inclusion in wedding ceremonial music.

The Bridal Chorus is believed to have been first performed in English-speaking countries as early as 1912. However, the exact origin of the verse remains unknown. Some Lutheran couples may choose to avoid seeing the bride before she gets to the altar, as it is considered “bad luck” for the groom to see her before she gets to the altar.

There is no definitive list of music appropriate for Lutheran weddings, and there are many factors to consider when choosing music and readings. Some churches and denominations ban the use of Wagner’s “Here Comes the Bride” due to its secular nature and anti-semetic views. Some churches and denominations also refuse to play Wagner’s chorus due to its secular nature, as it does not depict an actual wedding scene.

Despite these concerns, the Bridal Chorus remains a popular choice for wedding ceremonies, as it aligns with the traditions and beliefs of the Lutheran faith. The song was not written with the intention of being a wedding song, but it is still considered appropriate and a no-brainer for wedding ceremonies.

Why is the wedding march controversial?

Typically used in wedding recessionals, this piece has sparked controversy due to its literary origins. The Prussian monarch Friedrich Wilhelm IV commissioned Mendelssohn to compose incidental music for many pieces that were based upon Greek mythology and tragedy in order to revive the genre of literature and performance. Among his commissions, in 1843 Mendelssohn composed a setting for William Shakespeares A Midsummer Nights Dream; the setting comprises twelve musical numbers and a finale. The plot of Shakespeares play focuses on a pagan god and goddess and is filled with fairies, magic, and fantasy. Due to the pieces pagan, fantastic inspirations, some leaders and musicians — particularly in Roman Catholic churches — have found the piece to be inappropriate for a Christian religious ceremony.

Commonly used in wedding processionals to announce the bride on what should be a joyous day, this piece plays a less cheerful role in Wagners opera Lohengrin. Wagner came upon the operas inspiration around 1845 when he took interest in the legend of the Holy Grail through the poems of Wolfram von Eschenbach and the anonymous epic of Lohengrin. Composed by 1848, Lohengrin features Bridal Chorus as the prelude to a very short-lived, doomed marriage between Elsa and Lohengrin. The piece is sung by women serenading Elsa to the bridal suite after the wedding in Act III. Its not the happiest of allusions — and many find it distasteful to be reminded of the notoriously anti-Semitic Wagner during a wedding ceremony (or ever).

When can’t you see the bride?

No Peeking. Youve probably heard that its bad luck to see your fiancé on the wedding day before your ceremony. The reason being that, back when marriages were arranged, the bride and groom werent allowed to see or meet each other at all until they were at the altar.

There’s already a lot of pressure for your wedding day – to have wonderful weather, to looking amazing, to not fumbling the rings, etc. But who knew that there were actual superstitions behind these possible occurrences that could influence the success of your marriage? Not helping, right? If you’re superstitious, be on the lookout for these signs of good and bad luck!

You’ve probably heard that it’s bad luck to see your fiancé on the wedding day before your ceremony. The reason being that, back when marriages were arranged, the bride and groom weren’t allowed to see or meet each other at all until they were at the altar. Parents of the bride feared that, if the couple met each other before marrying, the groom wouldn’t find the bride attractive and would decide to call off the wedding. They were so careful, in fact, that part of the reason why the bride wore a veil down the aisle was to prevent the groom from knowing what she looked like until the very last second – when it’s too late to back out! Flattering, huh?!

Today, this superstition has phased out as we see more and more couples choosing to do a “first look” before the nuptials. But not everyone! Many couples still choose to remain unseen before the ceremony in order to save that special moment of seeing each other for the actual wedding. Either way, superstition: debunked!

Is Here Comes the Bride a pagan song?

The tune comes from a secular work. It doesn’t include a processional to the altar in “Lohengrin.” Wagnerian operas include “pagan” elements. However, some couples avoid the song because of Wagner’s darker ideologies. The composer was also known for being anti-Semitic. The Jewish Virtual Library said he had some troubling ideas, like that Jewish people lacked artistry and could not make complex, sophisticated music. Wagner was also seen as an example of “Aryan cultural greatness” by Nazi ideologies. Most Jewish couples don’t play the “Bridal Chorus” in their ceremonies.

A Complicated History. Looking at traditions can lead to new findings and to the discovery of less pleasant truths. The place of Wagner’s “Bridal Chorus” in modern wedding music is just one example of these discoveries. Your wedding day is all about you. What you include and what you decide to forgo will be based on your values and aesthetics.

Why is it bad luck to see the bride in her dress?

People didn’t let the couple see each other so they wouldn’t back out of the wedding. The bride’s family thought the groom might back out if he saw her first. But then, some started calling this wedding tradition bad luck and still do. It’s just a wedding superstition. The answer is no. There’s nothing wrong with seeing your bride or her dress before the ceremony. If your fiancée wants to keep it a surprise, go for it! It’s fun, romantic, surprising, and lovely to keep the bridal dress a surprise until the ceremony. But it won’t hurt your future if you have a first look. Enjoy the traditions you like and skip the ones you don’t. It’s your day, so celebrate!

Can you play Here Comes the Bride in a Catholic church?

Id start by asking the music director at your church. Yes, Ive heard that many churches will not allow it as it is a secular piece of music with some not-so-Catholic origins and associations. One of my friends had it played for her procession in a Nuptial Mass, so I think it really does depend on the parish.

Ive heard that some Catholic churches do not allow the song Here Comes the Bride during weddings. We are having our ceremony outside of Mass. Have you heard of this? If so, what songs have you heard of that replace this? Id be so bummed if we couldnt play it!

First of all check with your church to see if they do allow it if you really want to have it. DD had Trumpet Voluntary by Purcell as the processional. Another is Canon in D. There are a lot of choices. Id start by asking the music director at your church.

One of my friends had it played for her procession in a Nuptial Mass, so I think it really does depend on the parish. As PPs said, ask the music director at your church.

Why is it tradition to not see the bride?

This practice started before the 18th century, when arranged marriages were common. It was unlucky for the bride and groom to see each other. This was to stop the groom from backing out of the wedding before the ceremony. Many couples today take a first look instead of waiting to see each other down the aisle. Knowing the history of not seeing each other before the wedding has helped couples decide to have a first look. Wedding Planning Tips: Not sure if a first look is for you? Is giving the bride away religious?

The tradition of giving away the bride. Many Christian wedding traditions come from Jewish weddings and show God’s covenant with Abraham. A father escorting and giving away his daughter is one custom. This part of the ceremony seems to suggest that the bride’s parents are giving the groom something. Many couples today feel the custom is outdated and choose not to include it in their wedding service. But if we understand the tradition in its historical context, the giving away of the bride looks different. In Jewish tradition, fathers presented their daughters as virgins on their wedding day. Also, the father and mother of the bride chose the groom for their daughter.

Why is Here Comes the Bride not allowed?

Some churches and denominations refuse to play Wagners chorus due to its secular nature. Also, the song does not depict an actual wedding ceremony or processional to an altar in the opera. Its popular use for many made it not seem to fit into a worship service. And for those who simply know the views of the composer, they choose to leave it alone.

Looking at the origins of traditions can make the tradition more meaningful or you can realize the tradition is not really built on good stuff. What is meaningful for many, may not be meaningful for you. My hope is that however you proceed with your wedding day choices, that you will find and infuse meaning into every aspect. And dont be afraid to ask why do we do this?

What is the origin of the Here Comes the Bride?

Neither song was written for a wedding. German composer Felix Mendelssohn wrote the “Wedding March” for an 1842 production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. “Here Comes the Bride” was from Richard Wagner’s 1850 opera Lohengrin. The 1858 royal wedding is thought to have started the practice of a full choral processional from the church entrance to the altar and playing music as the bride walked up the aisle. This is a change from the usual practice of having music only at the reception. Ethnicity, Consumer Culture, and Family Rituals. The princess chose the music for her ceremony. The Wagner chorus was played as the Princess walked down the aisle, and the Mendelssohn march was played as the newlyweds walked back up. After the royal couple used that music in their ceremony, it caught on more widely.

Is Here Comes the Bride the same as the wedding march?

The song that often goes with the Wedding March is called Here Comes the Bride. Another piece from the theater, Here Comes the Bride was written by Richard Wagner for his 1850 opera Lohengrin. Princess Victoria Adelaide Mary Louise and her groom Frederick William IV of Prussia chose these songs for their wedding on January 25, 1858. The princess walked to the altar to Wagner’s piece before the newlyweds left for the reception. Before the 1858 royal wedding, music was only played at the wedding reception. The princess loved opera, especially Wagner and Mendelssohn. She chose their music for her ceremony.

  • Being a celibate man with SSA (same sex attractions) I have never felt more lonely than when I used to engage in my attractions. Since becoming celibate and welcoming Christ I never feel lonely for God is with me. Christ is my savior, my redeemer, and my life. God bless his Holy Catholic Church for showing me the beauty of the Kingdom of Heaven and that I am never unforgivable.

  • Hi Mother – we know that all humans have the ability to be loving, sensitive, discerning and such and therefore are able to form deep, meaningful bonds whether with the opposite or same sex. So I’d like to mention, (although on an obviously much more basic level than human relationships standards). that there are at least 1,500 species of animals who engage in same-sex activities – mostly with ‘animal instinct’ (although, some do form life-long relationships and are exclusively same-sex creatures). There are also around 65,000 creatures who are hermaphroditic. In Genesis it states that God created ALL creatures – so to say that being ‘gay’ is a ‘grave sin’ and ‘goes against God’s law’ – is surely to insult ALL God’s creations. (Those facts and figures are all proven facts and can easily be found on well-known and respected scientifc studies and sites). Thank you for reading.

  • For those of you who are finding this hard to understand, she is not asking how gay he is. She’s asking if he is struggling with the temptation or actively pursuing it. In the active pursuit of it, you are disobeying God’s word. But struggling with the temptation and turning from it is avoiding the sinful nature

  • My opinion If you have a gay nature you, have an urge to sin. We all have an urge to sin that is why we must remove our urges, you must not be gay and sacrifice your life for God, remove your lustful urges soo my message is to stop being gay for God, and become a believer love God more than your desires.

  • The answer to this is simple. If you’re catholic, you can choose to not be catholic. If you’re gay, you can’t choose to not be gay. This isn’t about “resisting impulses” this is about resisting being yourself. A lot of people here have a funny way of twisting this, gaslighting by saying “your own natural self is somehow an unnatural state or impulse that must be resisted for the sake of my religion.” And then having the gall to say “*you’re* the one being self righteous.” For those of you who understand the hubris and are scrolling through the comment section hopelessly. Don’t worry. This is obviously an overtly Christian article, so of course most of the people who clicked on it and commented on it would be closed minded Christians. Honestly, what other kind of response would you expect from a nun? I just came here to see the comments, and I’m actually glad and hopeful to see that there are some others here who see through this bs.

  • I don’t understand how they tell gay people to suppress who they truly are and live in a lie. Listen, no one knows where we all go after we die. NO ONE, religious or not. The truth is that we won’t know until we die. Live your life. Be gay, be straight, be whatever you identify as. Just be a kind and decent human being. Don’t worry about all of this nonsense. Seriously. 🤦🏻‍♂️

  • I had this conversation with my brother and he said he was gay and he was dealing with the same fear of going to hell and I told him we’re all born of sinful nature we all have sinful desires and it’s about restraining from acting on those sinful desires we have to die to our flesh so it doesn’t make him condemned he just needs to refrain from acting on the lust

  • There are many that don’t hate homosexual people, but don’t particularly support that aspect of their life. These kinds of people understand that even an homosexual person can be a great friend, father, mother, brother, sister etc, and respect them as a human. But they can choose to not support the homosexual way of life.

  • I’m a muslim but honestly speaking what we have witnessed in the past few decades is that there’s a hidden movement who have been actively pushing to destroy family oriented culture and values within Christian society and it’s moving too fast. Furthermore mocking Prophet Jesus ( Peace and blessings be upon Him) openly in the movies, theaters, shows, songs, on the streets and so on has become a norm. What’s wrong with our Christian brothers? Please do not take my words as an insult but rather as a reminder.❤

  • It is important for people to realize that she made a distinction between the feelings and the actions. This is where the choice lies. Just because you have a desire for something does not mean you should have it. You can choose not to act on your feelings. It is the action that is the sin, not the feeling. It is a matter of self-control. This is coming from a woman who used to be sexually attracted to women.

  • “Against the law of god” …who created us in his own image..oh, yeah, that ‘free choice’ ‘thing’,except being gay is NOT a choice someone makes. So the Catholic version of a loving, forgiving, benevolent god would rather you spend your life alone and without human love. Plus ” Grave” sin…is that the same as ‘mortal’ sin..’deadly’ sin. WHAT EXACTLY is the law of god these days?…Murder in his name? I’m Catholic, heterosexual but in no way believe that any loving god would class anybody as an “unwonderful” catholic for actively being gay! Btw..again WHAT DXACTLY IS A wonderful Catholic…’cos I know ALOT OF Catholics that are certainly NOT wonderful Christians !!

  • I love how I feel like shes not passing any judgement, she just told him the truth,im still unsure of what inclination to be gay,but regardless of inclination or Activity,i personally feel like that’s a great way to approach that question, with no resentment,no tweeking and no judgement just honestly and righteously

  • I had a family member who was gay. He never came out of the closet as per say. His life was living a lie. He died the most miserable way and he suffered because he couldn’t be who he was suppose to be due to the church and society ways. Imagine yourself living a life of hiding who you are. I learned how to be compassionate from his experience and understand that God doesn’t make mistakes. May God bless those who judge so harshly with some understanding and acceptance.

  • She should read the original texts in old hebrew: “If a man loves a man as another man loves a woman, you shall not suffer them to be harmed, or their blood come upon you as a curse from God.” Etc. It is always good to read and understand the original, unadulterated words of God – and act accordingly! Otherwise it means: damnation – without redemption!

  • People saying its heartwarming and nice. From a lgtbq+ perspective no its not. Its nice shes telling him the truth but its disreslectful that shes lying. You can have any religon gender sexuality you want you just have to ignore certain rules people made up to put others down. If god truely loves all why does he hate people who are gay? And why did he make ppl gay if hes just going to hate on them explain to me that.

  • She is basically saying that to be Catholic, you just have to deny your nature and don’t fulfill your dreams and aspirations, living as you were something else. In my opinion, this would be the real sin against yourself and life itself. The greatest commandment is “love your neighbour as yourself”. How could you do so, if you don’t accept and love yourself in the first place? Jesus didn’t ever say a word against being gay.

  • She speaks like a Rabbi. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of all man. Therefore, any man who judges another for their “grave sin” is not only a fool but a hypocrite. Classic example of how the Roman Empire could not adopt the simplicity of Jesus, they had to create their own version and they did so with a very large Roman Empire bank account. “He who is without sin, cast the first stone. 🪨”

  • now, pardon my ignorance, I have basic knowledge of this religion, but for what I understand, being sexually active before marriage is a sin in itself, right? It doesn’t depend on being gay or not, if the place one lives in allows homosexual marriage, there is nothing against them getting married and still being catholic, remember the original scripture (for what I remember searching online) had nothing directly against homosexual love, it was a mistranslation (again this is based on some internet research and I could easily be missing some other parts where it explicitly says something against gay love in the original scripture, I’m not trusting the common translations anymore)

  • Her response should have pointed out its the same as being promiscuous, adultery, cheating, harming others. Where to me, the real problem is all these other sins that are not allowed into heaven, so everything is clear rather than acting as if lgbt is the most worse thing.. Where there’s many sins I have never ever heard anyone ever give sermons on. .

  • Yeah I don’t agree. The bible wasn’t written by Jesus himself. Why would God bring a Gay child into this world if it was a sin to be who he created them to be? It makes no sense. You 💯 can be a devotee to God and be yourself. I am not Gay. I am a Catholic. I am devoted to God himself. Not man made ideas constricting my rights to love HIM and dictate how I demonstrate my devotion to him. Catholicism shames people and considers everything a Sin. I believe GOD lives within each of us and to truely honour Him we must live in authenticity to generate happiness and raise His vibration.

  • i’m not catholic and i’m not gay but I have studied the Catholic religion both religiously and academically. There is not a single explicit passage in the Bible that condemns being gay, homosexuality is not even mentioned (on the other hand it would have been impossible considering that the idea of sexuality we have today is completely different from the one they had when the bible was written). Catholicism is the result of the interpretation that the Romans gave of the Bible and homosexuality was perfectly integrated into Roman culture, the only thing that is said in the Bible is that the Christian has the duty to marry and reproduce this would justify, but implicitly, the exclusion of homosexual marriages but this is pure interpretation.

  • Hi! Gay and Catholic, here! I don’t need the approval, let alone opinions, of other people to tell me what our Lord thinks He, and He alone, is the only one that will tell me about myself Are you telling me that God makes mistakes?! No, precisely, He does not Yet He made me this way, He created me this way A fellow human being, a fellow child of God, will NEVER tell me about myself Disgusting that so many use His name as an excuse for their own bigotry, hatred & severe lack of intelligence God bless you all

  • Ex lesbian here 👋 saved by Jesus Christ in 2022 hallelujah 🙏 still not dated a man but my desires for women are gone. Dont believe the lie the world tells you, that you cant change, you can, with Jesus. I wouldnt give this up for anything! I understand you guys saying you don’t feel like you can change, i felt the exact same way, i felt i was born gay. And i wasnt even born into a christian family so my family all thought i was crazy when i found my faith. I was outcast more for believing in Jesus than for being gay… let that sink in before all the hate comments start pouring at me. No one made me feel bad for being gay, it was the opposite! If you stop choosing to look at men/women like that and pray for God to deliver you diligently, He will. Anyone who needs prayers or advice comment and ill do my best to help. God doesnt love me more than any of you, so if he helped me, he will help you! You just have to pick up your cross.

  • I applaud you for the response that you have given to this young man. Thank you for all the years of dedication into this Religion made God have grace on you and everyone That listens to you, my prayers and my thoughts Are with you as well as with everyone that Asks you this type of questions. God bless you sister

  • To anyone who may be seeing this: It’s okay to be who you are, and to love who you love. You don’t choose to be gay, just like nobody chooses to be straight. You don’t choose the body you’re born in, and you don’t choose the people you’re born to. Pride is not a sin. In nature, the birds who fly with more colors are attacked by the flock, because the flock sees differences as a threat. Be better than the animals that not only inhabit the wilds, but be better than the animals that inhabit robes and wield fairytales of fear.

  • I guess that settles it. Just don’t be Catholic. You worship your God in a way that gives you peace. We are all here for a reason and born the way we are. Even on a simply objective level, don’t surround yourself with ANYONE who makes you feel bad about simply being who you are. This is especially true when you aren’t hurting yourself or others.

  • Actually as a Christian, there is no part in the Bible that says being gay is wrong, the part most people think it does say that is where it says “man shall not lie with man for it is an abomination” however this is actually a mistranslation, what it actually says is “man shall not lie with boy” and the specific word used in Hebrew being translated to “Lie” actually means to be a pedophile, being gay isn’t a sin, being a pedophile is.

  • Strongly disagree. There is no firm evidence to definitively prove that homosexuality is a grave sin and goes against God’s Law unless one chooses to accept Biblical Scripture as the inerrant Word of God. Such a belief is subjective in its nature. One always has to consider the political and social climate of the day in which a particular book of the Bible was written. We simply choose to use cherry-pick Bible passages as a means to condemn homosexuality

  • If one is actively gay and holds no remorse for their gayness there is no hope for entering the Kingdom. If you are an adulterer(es) and have no remorse for your adultery you have no hope for entering the Kingdom. The same for being a drunkard, a thief, and a liar. If you confess your sin to Jesus, seek forgiveness from Jesus, and repent your promise for eternity with God in His Kingdom will be restored!

  • A gay man can be just as faithful as a straight man in marriage. Gay people will always be God’s children as this Nun has implied, and it should not and never be a sin, so follow what you feel is right for you. However, this Nun has said what she said with tact, and was very gentle in how she explained to the man her view, and for that, se has my respect.

  • To be a tively gay is just as bad as being actively in any sexual reltionship without your wife. You are robbing someone else of thier grace. Sexual pleasure is to be shared only with your wife. And you must be open to having children. If you have a condition that prevents you from having kids you also cannot be married.

  • In second Timothy it clearly states that a man shall not lay with another man as a woman. The Bible tells us that homosexuality is a sin and an abomination against God. In Genesis it says from the beginning that God created Man and created a woman for the man so he would not be lonely. Those who don’t want to be with God should just have the common sense of this man has his private part and the woman has her private part. His fits hers perfectly just like a puzzle piece going together that is just common sense. Praying for everyone in these godless and rebellious times. Everyone needs to repent. In Jesus name God bless you all

  • Your father was a awesome man of God. I had the pleasure to sit with him in a counseling session in 1986 when he was in a store front church. He saved my marriage at the time as he gave his description of his beautiful marriage and what made it work. I even mentioned Dr. Monroe in my book due to his loving kindness on that day. He will never be forgotten in my heart. What a might man he was and I’m sure he still is now that he is in the presence of God. May God continue to bless your marriage indeed.

  • I’ll never forget when he visited our church. He was an inspiration. When he sat down at the piano and played, you could hear a pin drop. The song and the grace in which he delivered it, lifted you up and carried you into a special place in that moment. His book, ‘Proof Of Purpose’ still one of my favorites. May his words over your union be a blessing throughout your marriage.

  • This has touched my heart with tears, I know your parents are so proud of you, and as a MOG with so much of your father’s influence on your life it’s so touching that you wanted this to be played at your wedding ceremony, how beautiful and special this is, that God will always be joined with you and your beautiful wife and generations to come, God Bless You Both! • Just my opinions, I dont think Im wrong (But if I’m wrong I apologize) ..knowing it would be sad to hear his dad voice anywhere’ maybe he should of listen to it days or weeks before the wedding, to have his father advice well in his spirit waay b4 his wedding day wouldn’t been so sad, his dad would of still been proud of his son just carrying on his advice in life !❤

  • Ahh, I know that he wishes his mom and dad were there with him in the physical form, but I hope and pray that he comes to realize that they both are with him everyday in the spiritual form. They haven’t left him. They are there each day helping to guide him, protect him, lead him to who he needs to meet, and where he needs to go. What a blessing to have had such a wonderful and wise father. His father was a incredible man. You know that God didn’t destroy that soul that helped, encouraged, inspired, enlightened, and loved so many people around the world.🙏🏽 I pray that this young man comes to realize that his father is still with him. I pray that he can some day soon feel his presence in the room and be filled with joy, gratefulness, love, and peace to have been so blessed to have had the time that he had with his father during the time that he was alive.🙏🏽 This life is temporary. We have all got to go one day.🙏🏽 His daddy was a phenomenal man and knew his great purpose in this life. Such a blessing. Truly a gift and blessing to this world.🙏🏽 I pray that this young man knows that he’s going to see his mom and dad again some day.🙏🏽 Congratulations to on their nuptials. I pray that the two of them have a long, prosperous, and fulfilling marriage. My blessings and love to you both.❤️ God bless you ❤️🥳🙏🏽😊❤️

  • His parents were second to none. True generals. Wish we still had Myles’ presence to teach and to show the younger generation how to live for Christ. But, we have his books, his sermons so we will never go without his leadership. Even now, God is using his life as a testimony for someone. May Gods hands continue to rest on his son and beautiful new wife.

  • Myles Monroe was a fierce advocate for the REAL WORD OF GOD! His sermons and more importantly- his “life-witness” was so powerful and genuine, it just continues to resonate as if he were still here physically. Because spiritually—he has not left the building. I see both he and his beautiful wife, in their children! He died truly empty- because he poured it all into his ministry. Die Empty- should be the goal of every believer!❤

  • The devil attacked Dr. Myles Munroe since he was a child with a teacher telling him he was a monkey. A dummy. That teacher cried and apologized to him. Dr. Monroe was one of the smartest men to ever live!!! I read his book Maximizing your full potential. The main topic was dying empty. I know you miss him son. Take comfort in knowing that he died empty. May God bless your union 🙌🏽🙏🏽🇧🇸❤️

  • Congratulations ❤ I listen to your Dad sermons on a regular. It’s hard to say what your emotions are besides missing your Parents there’s so many Great things myself can say and he’s not my Parent but he is a Spiritual Man of God for me. My Parents went home to be with the Lord and I’m 17 days from being 65 and I miss them so much and I still have days I don’t know what to do cry or smile with tears of joy. Again Congratulations to you and your Wife ❤. Keep me in your Prayers as well as I keep you and Family in mine.

  • 😢 your Dad was (is) a hero! Your Father is a Man of God. Even though he’s not here with us, his words of encouragement, wisdom and guidance will help us through life. He was a prophet sent for a short time, but his work that was done while on earth will always be road map to Jesus Christ. Blessings on your marriage.💯🙏

  • He is still teaching and preaching to the world!!! We are still buying his books ! Taking his classes on line on the ways to pray and fast! Understanding the principles of communion, reading the word, relationships! Finances ! I really don’t know any topics he didn’t teach! What an awesome Man of God! And he loved his wife and 2 children!

  • Indeed we’re crying and celebrating with you at the same time, we all miss him,but we are not without hope, we’ll see him some day soon. Be comforted that he lived a blessed life and left an awesome legacy for you. Receive strength and wisdom to continue where he stopped. God’s blessings on you, your wife and your family amen 💖🙏

  • Young man you come from a royal priesthood. Your dad’s philosophies of life changed me. I ma different from the very day I started following him since 2017 to date. Yes there is a reason to cry for such a loss but bear with me man, your dad laid a foundation for you guys to build upon. Don’t depart from the foundation. Kingdom mindset he was and so be it to you.

  • Your father left such a legacy and a blueprint that set you up for the rest of your life, to live life without regrets. Live your best life well. No matter what as long as you remain in the faith you have alway and will always have made your parents proud and done well. No one knew that your parents would have ended the journey of life together however they began it that way, and they stayed together forever. What a testimony to leave in words and action. Congratulations, choose life and live it. Praying your strength in the Lord.

  • I don’t have nor know anyone who shares the faith with me, but I do still pray for my family that they may accept God. I’ve talked to them about The Lord multiple times but I haven’t given up. Im going to plant the seed and let the Lord do his gardening. God Bless you for denying your flesh and helping to spread Gods word. It can be very intimidating at times.

  • Hello Myles Jr. and bride. I am so sorry that your mom and dad are no longer here in this life to witness such a momentous occasion. But, I believe they are looking down from Heaven and celebrating with you; and of course they are with you in spirit. May you live out your life like your dad and mom. Truly, they were a remarkable example of what marriage is. 🙏😇❤️💐

  • You called him Dad but we called him a Great Man of God, whose powerful words are still saving souls, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and impacting the world. May his larger than life legacy inspire you and your bloodline forever. May the Holy Spirit comfort you as only he can, and may God bless your marriage and family in every way, in Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.🙏🏽❤️

  • I just wanted to say to the beautiful couple- congrats & share that the grooms father has been a vital part of my journey to my purpose and I am forever grateful for him & the ministry he has left behind… Your father was one of the best teachers of modern day- and is still growing Gods kingdom just as much or more than he did while still walking the earth… 😢
