The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has a policy that requires the original marriage certificate to be sent by post when applying for a change of name on a driving license. This is due to the increasing concern over identity theft and sophisticated fraud. After filling out a D1 form, you must send it along with your current photocard or paper licence and any documents that confirm your new name or gender.
In the UK, there is no cost to change the name or gender on a driving licence in the United Kingdom. After changing your name, you need to update your driver’s licence and vehicle registration. To do this, you must inform the DVLA. Paper-based applications have turnaround times within the norm, and if applying by mail, allow 4 weeks for the delivery of your new documents.
For those who have already changed their name, they can send their passport number on the form and the DVLA will check it themselves. The DVLA are strict about ensuring everything is correct and in order, so it is essential to ask them what to do. If you have already received your driving license in your new name, you can simply give them your passport number on the form and they will check it themselves.
In summary, the DVLA requires the original marriage certificate to be sent by post for changes to your driving license. However, if you have already changed your name, you can still apply for a change of name without sending the original.

I know two Asian women who never worked in this country married to British man both are now widowed and I heard one of them is receiving pension same amount as someone who worked all her life. The other person is not a pension age yet and is expecting to get her pension in two years time. Now what I don’t understand is that why are these people entitled to have pensions if they have have not contributed a penny to the system whilst I worked so hard all my life paid my tax and my insurance and I get sod all pension? I’m angered because these people are enjoying life holidaying abroad yearly, have properties in the country they came from whilst I’m stretching my little pension to make ends meet. Is this fair to us who worked hard and these people who just sat on their behind have more on their plate? Can someone please explain.
I will be Voting for reform in Britain, however I believe when new British citizens are made in the near future they will not be British born, and will not respect the other political parties as British at the ballot box and vote by postal vote. But try to take over as the majority political vote within Britain. The reform party is right. Britain will be lost to an alien vote and mass illegal immigration, you have been warned. Very good mr sunak, we have far too many asians and in this country, and as we all know that a majority of foreign countries, from other countries they come here and take part in criminal activities because the prisons are full of majority foreign prisoners, the amount of things i have seen in prison and the officers cant do anything due to being the rules and regulations, Its about time someone has done something to control the immediate immigrants, furthermore we need to take our country back just like ireland have, this is very important to take control of our country back because if we dont we can just imagine what will happen with our next generation,!!!!!!! I real hope people will give this a serious thought. Take care and love you very much ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!!!!!!!!
