Should boyfriends still ask their girlfriends to be their valentine?
Valentines Day, the holiday of love, sparks excitement within couples as they rush to creatively convey their affection towards one another. Amidst the chocolates, flowers, and heartfelt cards, one simple gesture stands out: the act of asking ones girlfriend to be their valentine. The few weeks before this celebration of love is a time when subtle hints fly faster than cupids arrows. Seen between couples everywhere, this action unfolds with its own unique blend of humor, confusion and warm significance. As Mustangs try to understand the complexities of teenage romance, the question arises, just how important is it for a boyfriend to take that extra step and pop the question, even when theyre already a couple? In a world full of couples, some boyfriends find the idea of having to ask their own girlfriend to be their Valentine to be pretty stupid. Theyre in an established romantic relationship; its obvious that their significant other will be their Valentine, so why the formality? Many girls tend to think this small but impactful gesture adds a cute touch to the seasons traditions and takes their Valentines Day to the next level.”The first time I asked Giuliana to be my Valentine, I thought it was kind of silly because I thought she would just assume we would be each others valentines, but I did eventually end up asking her,” senior Connor Cosgrove shared about his first Valentines Day experience.”I feel like if you ask your girlfriend the question, they feel more special even if youre already dating. Its just that extra step to go above and beyond to make you feel like a special someone on a special day,” senior Giuliana Marsili explained. In many instances, although the boyfriend is puzzled by the idea of a Valentines Day proposal, he still obliges. In the spirit of keeping the peace (and avoiding any potential romantic conflicts), he goes along with what his girlfriend wants. Once the girlfriend drops many hints, eye rolls and sighs, her boyfriend finally catches on. For these couples, the act becomes a funny game of compliance, displaying the lengths one will go to for the sake of love, even if the logic doesnt make sense.”I felt really excited about asking my girlfriend to be my Valentine, I could just imagine the look on her face when I would give her my valentine proposal. I think this is a way to remind your significant other that theyre really special to you, and it kind of keeps that spark alive between the two of you,” junior Ayush Kawle stated.”I felt really happy when Ayush asked me to be his valentine because it was a really cute proposal. He got me a box of chocolate-covered strawberries that said be my valentine. He also gave me a necklace and a Starbucks gift card,” junior Anoushka Rath said.Lastly, some couples know the unwritten rules of Valentines Day, where the boyfriend plans something special without any hints or nudges from his girlfriend. A Valentines Day proposal is every girlfriends dream, needing careful planning, creativity and a touch of spontaneity. For them, asking to be their valentine is above a mere formality, its a declaration of love, saying more than words can. Every detail matters, every moment is a chance to create cherished memories, and every Valentines Day is an opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to each other.”Me and Ella have been dating for a long time, so asking her was kinda a no-brainer thing to do. I got her a gift immediately, and she still is yet to see it, but I love her so much and I hope shes really going to like it,” senior Dylan Villarreal remarked.”I didnt really have to hint at him to ask me at all; he just kind of came out and did it,” junior Ella Casper said happily. In asking someone to be their Valentine, individuals are essentially declaring their devotion and commitment in a lighthearted or romantic manner. Its a moment filled with laughter, joy and even a touch of nervous anticipation. The proposal might be with a bouquet of flowers, her favorite chocolate or even just asking the simple question. Regardless, its a small gesture that speaks volumes.”This year I laughed when my boyfriend Zach asked me to be his Valentine because he failed at making chocolate-covered strawberries. He was sad about how they turned out, but I was so happy, and I ate the chocolate and strawberries separately,” senior Jasmin Kirkland shared.Whether its done in a playful manner, with a hint of teasing or with genuine sincerity, the act of asking someone to be their valentine carries significant emotional weight. For young couples, especially those in the early stages of their relationship, it marks a milestone and is a step closer to better connect with each other. But beyond the laughs and eye-rolls lies the true significance of this seemingly simple question. The moment that captures the essence of ones relationship, a reminder of the joy, silliness and enduring love thats shared.

Do you give a gift when asking someone to be your valentine?
You can pick something small and meaningful because it is the gesture that matters here and not the price. If you want to give her something expensive, you can give that to her on Valentines Day itself.
You can even give her an experience, like a hike or drive on which you ask her to be your valentine. It will help as studies have shown that people prefer experiences over things as gifts.
3. With fresh flowers. If you are looking for cute ways to ask a girl to be your valentine, try to buy some delicate and vibrant flowers for her.
Flowers may seem cliche but they are still the best way to ask a girl to be your valentine. You can find out her favorite flower and then get an arrangement made just for her. It will make her feel cherished and valued by you.
Will you be my valentine asking ideas?
Make It Sweet and Low-Key. Now, instead of going overboard with grand gestures, keep it simple and sweet. Consider making a personalized card or writing a thoughtful note. Pair it with their favorite candy or treat, tie it up with a ribbon, and put their name on it.
If youre looking to propose a girl in different ways, skip the giant teddy bears; opt for a cute, low-key gesture that wont make both you and your crush cringe.
Chai Proposal. Present a cup of chai with a cute note saying, “Chai Love You! Will You Be My Valentine?” It adds a playful twist to a classic Indian beverage. Immerse your love in the warmth of chai, blending tradition with a sweet, personalized proposal.
How do you respond to Will you be my Valentine?
Direct Acceptance: A straightforward “Yes, Id love to be your Valentine” clearly communicates your mutual interest. With Enthusiasm: If youre excited about it, dont hesitate to express that. Saying something like, “Absolutely! I was hoping youd ask!” can convey your enthusiasm and make the moment special for both of you.Flirty Response: If you share a flirtatious rapport, responding in a playful manner can be fitting. For example, “I thought youd never ask! Yes, I will.”2. If You Like Them But Are Unsure About Romance:
Requesting Clarification: If youre unsure what their intentions are (whether its serious or casual), ask for clarification. You could say, “That sounds fun, but just to be clear, are you thinking of this as a date or as friends hanging out?”Taking Time to Think: If you need time to consider your feelings, its okay to express that. “Im flattered you asked. Can I take a little time to think about it?”3. If You Value Them as a Friend But Not Romantically:
Gentle Friendzone: Politely declining with an emphasis on friendship can maintain your current relationship. “I really value our friendship and want to keep it that way. I hope you understand.”Alternative Suggestion: Offering an alternative can soften the rejection. “Im not into celebrating Valentines Day romantically, but would you like to do something fun as friends?”4. If Youre Not Interested:

Is it OK to ask someone to be their valentine?
Asking someone to be your valentine benefits both parties as a sweet, simple and innocent way to show their adoration. Who wouldnt appreciate a heart-shaped box of candy with a note asking “Will you be my valentine?”
Modern-day romance often lacks genuineness as the passion for holidays such as Valentine’s Day is diminishing.
Some people feel there is no need for a whole day dedicated to love and romance because they can show their love daily. I believe that’s what makes a holiday such as Valentine’s Day so special; it is unlike any other day.
Valentine’s Day is a holiday that has been celebrated in many countries around the world since the 14th century.
📹 Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas 💌
Hi guys 🙂 I finally managed to film a new diy video for you and I hope you like it My life is a little chaotic at the moment and I’m …
For Valentine’s Day two years ago in my senior year I painted my girlfriend a view of Rome from (it took me 34 hours of oil painting but she’s worth it) she loved it but was confused why Rome and then that’s when I showed her the tickets I had gotten to go to Rome and stay at the hotel that the view was from in the painting, needless to say I lost my virginity that night and I am still with her today
I stumbled on your website around three years ago, and I’ve been following your uploads, and advice since then. Your tutorials, tips and general wisdom have helped shape me into the man I am today, thank you Aaron, truly, I wouldn’t be Alpha without you! Much love, much support. Keep up the fantastic work! You’re the man.
Alpha M., I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for all that you have done for me. These short articles definitely help out. I am a junior and my game has improved (at least I believe). Now I get compliments on the way I dress and even have better grades. I now that I’m not the only one you have helped out. So keep on doing what you’ve always been doing.
I just want to say, thank you! I really have a hard time coming up with thoughtful gifts for my fiance. Although I’ve tried over the years, I find that she “likes” my gift, but hardly ever uses or wears it, or whatever the case may be. I’ve been using Sony Vegas for years, so when you said, “Make a article” I swear, a freaking light bulb turned on over my head lol. Anyway, I made a article that ended up being about 15 minutes long. It took me about 2 weeks to make, but when I uploaded it into her iPhone she had no idea what I was up to. only 2 seconds into the article she was already crying (to my surprise). I left the room so she could watch the article alone. When it was done she came into the room hysterically crying. Something I’ve never really see often from her. She said that it was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for her. Thank you again Al! I truly appreciate it!
Hey Aaron! I just wanted to say thank you so much for your articles. After binge perusal your articles (I still have yet to finish them all) I can honestly say I’ve improved myself. After getting dumped by my Ex girlfriend twice I thought I would never be the same. But with your help I was actually able to overcome my some of my social anxiety and today I actually spoke to this girl whom I’ve been crushing on. It was tough but I went up to her, had a simple conversation and I’m very proud of my self because of it. I would’ve never done that without you man. You rock alpha keep up the great work and thanks again!
Aaw, you really get what your wife (and I) expects as a gesture: you out of your comfort zone. You not being a particularly good cook and yet cooking a nice (not even fantastic, it just has to taste good) dinner… just, means the world. I might also add looking at the practical details such as cleaning properly everything BEFORE dinner takes place (MAYOR detail, plan your stuff), taste everything before serving, make sure temperature ir right (you can always use the microwave a little if you need it) and light one candle, that’s enough. Cheers, Alpha 🙂
My girl is in basic training and I have gotten her a funny card and a romantic card that wouldn’t make her upset… Last year she got a jar and put little strips of paper in the jar that states every reason why she loves me…. I plan on doing the same thing through the mail… Just giving ideas in situations like this…. I know its cheesy but its good!! hopefully she will love it!
Hey Aaron, I understand why you say “girl, guy, whatever you’re into” and I completely respect and support it. However, assuming the vast majority of your audience is made up of heterosexual males, it’s my opinion, as well as the opinion of many other viewers, that you should just say ‘girl’. I think your homosexual, female and any other viewers with differing sexual preferences are mature enough to understand what you’re saying. The reason I say this is that sometimes it seems like you’re pandering to a select view butthurt negative nancys, who will complain at the drop of a hat. Anyhow, thats my two cents. Love what you do. Keep up the good work. Cheers, -Mike
All your 5 suggestions are tops! Our anniversary…… at my request from the 1st time he asked me what I wanted – I said: A nice hotel at the cities “Square” because there’s that hustle and bustle of people, places and cafe/restaurants a GALORE. We did a 2 day stay and sometimes 3 depending on funds. Packed a couple of bottles of our favorite wine with one being a new surprise flavor. He loved this idea we stuck with it for ten years and he’d always remind me about buying flowers 💐 ! That’s my thing, a small bunch of peonies are so beautiful and romantic! THINK ABOUT IT, all year and year after year you work and slave at your job. Sure we had a family but couples need time out!!! This is a must to keep the fire going between each other. Another reason it spiced up more when you plan things you both enjoy, you dress up for dinner (gives you the chance to get that old black dress) dress it up, spice it up, bling it up if you want – he loved it and he was inspired to dress up with me! We made it a thing to eat breakfast out and at least one dinner out, dressed up even if it was a hole in the wall – it was our favorite place because the food was delicious and the service is genuine. I’m a sucker for Italian food ……. Italians serve you whole heartedly because they passion food, I love that! After maybe our third anniversary, we asked our teenage kids to come spend one night or the day out because we were but 15 min away into the city. If they didn’t want to (which they did twice at different years) we always bought them something big(that was our plan).
Something unique I did for my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day (you can do for your woman) – I invited him over after work. I decorated my den (fireplace in this room – hint romance), I had hearts creating a path to the small dining table I set up in front of the fireplace, the room was only lit by candles, table cloth, small bouquet and candles on table. I moved the mattress to this room as well, hung up a shear type drape over and around the “bed” with hearts dangling from center inside (created a canopy or mosquito netting effect – I hung from the ceiling fan). He LOVED it!! I had Valentine themed love pillows and my lingerie lying on the bed. I cooked dinner (I never cook lol), wine too of course. I had his gifts placed near the table for him to open. I had a chalkboard that I spelled his name vertically and inserted attributes I adore about him next to each letter of his name. Soft music playing, dinner by the fireplace then fun time on the romantic bed. You can add touches like a massage or a fun couples game or romantic movie too. It’s just time to make the person you love feel extra special and spoiled. The thought and attention to details that are especially for her will make this Valentine’s Day a memory she will never forget. Good luck to you alpha m’s out there!❤
On my last year in High School I had 9 girls in my class. I gave 8 valentines for every girl except one. Her name had 8 letters. On the back of every valentine was one letter. She seemed sad that she didn’t receive any. And then BOOM! Just 10 minutes before the lesson was over (Before that day i asked my teacher if I could have 10 minutes for myself)I asked all the girls to put their valentines in order 1-8 (each valentine had a number) And her name was on the table. People were so impressed that one guy cursed “Holy fuck” next to our teacher. And the girl couldn’t stop smiling.
🗽i know youve already done a couple watch articles, one of which was on a watch under $40 but i was hoping you can you do a review on the men’s watches at aldo. they have some really nice watches for $35-$40 with interchangeable straps and the watches I’ve worn have gotten me many compliments. would love it if you could share these $100 looking watches for people who don’t have as much to spend but want to still look like it.
