The US Supreme Court has refused to hear the appeal of an American woman who joined the Islamic State (IS) and is seeking re-entry to the US. Hoda Muthana, an Alabama woman who traveled to Syria in 2014 to join ISIS, has filed a lawsuit against several Trump administration officials over her US citizenship and seeking her return. President Trump instructed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to deny Muthana re-entry, stating she was not a US citizen and had no legal basis to be brought back to American soil. A federal judge declined to fast-track a lawsuit brought by the family of an American-born woman from Alabama who alleges the Trump administration unlawfully denied her return to the US. The 23-year-old’s appeal of an earlier court decision to deny her re-entry has now been fully dismissed. Hoda Muthana, who was born and raised in the US and wants to return with her son, is suing the Trump administration over her US citizenship and seeking her return. The US-backed Syrian Democratic Force has almost captured the last ISIS enclave in Syria, and the allure of launching special operations raids into Syria from neighboring Iraq or elsewhere to hit ISIS may be politically appealing and tactically useful.

Who revoked Shamima Begum’s citizenship?
Why was she kicked out of Britain? The home secretary at the time, Sajid Javid, revoked Begum’s citizenship because she did not show enough regret. He told MPs that those who went to IS supported a terrorist organization and showed they hate our country and our values. UK law doesn’t allow the government to take away someone’s citizenship if they become stateless. But Javid told Begum’s family that she could apply for citizenship in Bangladesh because her parents were from there. Begum said she had never been to Bangladesh, and the Bangladeshi foreign minister said she would be killed if she went there. She is still in a Kurdish-run camp in northeast Syria. Her lawyers have been in court since her citizenship was taken away.

This is a very unique case for study. Her father was a designated foreign diplomat, with immunity from US jurisdiction. The father skipped work when she was born, but the immunity was still in effect. The constitution excludes foreign nationals out of US jurisdiction to become automatic US citizens. She is never a US citizen. Any fed immigration officer can stop her from entering US.
I am a muslim and I do see her a threat to come back to the state. In my eyes, yes she is a terrorist and brought shame to her nation, country that adopted her and provided her every opportunity that shouldnt have dreamed about in her parents native land. Those kind of creatures should be banned, stripped off their citizenship and deported back to where they belong so that innocent lives wouldnt be harmed. I love US and willing to fight for what it stands for against any threat. Gob bless America and keep Americans safe
I heard the judge for this case recently declared she isn’t a U.S. citizen, so at least there’s one person with integrity in a powerful position who doesn’t want to see America and it’s people burn. Can’t say the same for the other 90% who have proved that they couldn’t care less and don’t deserve the position they’re in.
How would the US ever trust her. I say no way. Unfortunately she made a really stupid mistake. I know I’m a different person at 54 than I was at 19. But this is a very dangerous decision that makes her a national threat. Sorry honey, you’ll have to find somewhere else to accept you. Or live in the bed you made for yourself. Let this be a big lesson to the young people of this country. If you leave to join a terrorist organization be prepared for it to be for life. God bless you and have mercy on your soul.
It’s probably best for her not to return as she did commit treason. Treason during a time of war/conflict and aiding the enemy does still carry the penalty of death if I remember correctly. So her choices are to stay over there and have a “chance” at life, assuming she is truly repentant, if she can find a way to better housing…or come back here and face trial with possible execution for treason. She really wants to come back? I mean I don’t for one second believe that she feels any sort of remorse or guilt for her actions, but even if she did she must recognize that her actions carry severe consequences.
“It’s not Islamic at all”…..lies!! ISIS is exactly like how their prophet lived 1400 years ago. But we in the west are not bothered to look into islamic theology and their prophet’s lifestyle. We judge islam by meeting few muslims who are normal. Guess what? There are plenty of Christians, Buddists, Heendus or other religious groups who are nice as well. “I met some nice Muslims”…alone should not blind us from what’s in their religion.
I’m not a Trump lover but I totally agree 101% with his decision. Your can’t eat your cake and have it all back in one piece. Woman you should be able to deal with the collateral damages of your decision because you had free will to choose not to join but you went on with it anyway. Best decision from POTUS
Code Section 1481 Sub Chapter 3 of the United States Constitution A person who is a national of the United States whether by birth or naturalization, shall lose his nationality by voluntarily performing any of the following acts with the intention of relinquishing United States nationality — (Including) committing any act of treason against, or attempting by force to overthrow, or bearing arms against, the United States, violating or conspiring to violate any of the provisions of section 2383 of title 18, or willfully performing any act in violation of section 2385 of title 18, or violating section 2384 of title 18 by engaging in a conspiracy to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, if and when he is convicted thereof by a court martial or by a court of competent jurisdiction.
She looks very remorseful but that’s the way they trick you into thinking that they’re not and then they open up a terrorist Sleeper Cell right in your own home. Talk about Sleeping with the Enemy. I just wonder how many times this stupid ass 24 year old was raped by her Isis saviors. I’m sure the kid is probably by rape. I don’t think she goes into this how she conceived a child and this small interview.
She should be forgiven but at the same time committed an act of treason and should be held accountable. She joined a terrorist group and only wants therapy, then you need to open up all the prisons and release the drug dealers, murderers, etc etc for therapy as well. They are serving time for their crimes and so should she.
This is sad… she is a citizen of the US. And being young and impressionable … There should be another way, I see all these comments and if it were you it would be a different story. Did she even do any crime? Why does the little baby have to suffer … she’s so young I feel like she needs help but this country seems to mostly enforce hatred.
She made her bed now she can lay down in it. That simple, I can’t go rob a bunch of people and then go oh I’m sorry I didn’t realize what I was doing was wrong and get out of going to prison and get therapy. I would be locked up with 0 remorse. Sorry but that’s how life works you do something wrong and you pay the consequences.
I am human and I feel sorry for her if she is in fact repentant. Her child deserves better to. But I am pretty sure she was an adult when she made that ridiculous decision to join ISIS. So she has to live with the consequences. She needs to make a life in Syria. Good luck with your life, the next ten years are going to be pretty bad. Probably limited resources. Plus Assad might start executing people.
Young people make mistakes yes but people shouldn’t join terrorist that harm others and say “I was young”. Why her parents suing this country? They should have taught her better. It’s their fault. First time I strongly disagree with democrat. Democrat said USA should take her back. Really? I thought they are better than trump.
