The Director of Resort Operations and the General Manager of Hotel Mira Costa showed me the wedding sites at Hotel Mira Costa and the Ambassador Hotel, including parts of actual weddings. Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings in Tokyo are different. You don’t build your wedding from scratch. You choose from several packages (the ones at the Ambassador Hotel are themed to each princess) and can’t change much. You have to rent a dress. When I asked how it would work for a big bride like me, they said they’d make it work. But they said Disney provides a certain kind of wedding, and only people who want that kind of wedding choose Disney, so no one’s upset that they can’t modify the packages. (Don’t get any ideas, DFTW Orlando…) They do up to eight weddings a day. Each hotel has all the facilities you could need, including a bridal salon, a beauty salon, a bridal gown salon, a photo studio, and waiting rooms. Each wedding party goes through the same rooms on their way to the altar and then the reception. It’s a well-run business, and they offer a lot of services.

Your wedding planner will help you choose what’s important to you and the costs will go toward your event minimum. If you choose to have your ceremony at the Walt Disney World Resort, there will be fees for seating, music, and sound. If you don’t have a ceremony at Walt Disney World Resort, these fees don’t apply. The first payment is when you sign your agreement. You must pay a non-refundable deposit now. The second payment is due 90 days before your wedding. It is based on your guest count and the total cost of your wedding. Your final payment is due 30 days before your wedding. You can pay by credit card or wire transfer. We don’t offer financing for your event.

Congratulations!! It looks like your wedding was beautiful! The only thing I would worry about is not having the guests I would want there the most, because they couldn’t afford it. Just a round trip ticket from Toronto to Orlando would be around $375 (at the least) and then there is the hotel, food, and the cost of park tickets (if they wanted to go to the parks on another day). Those “extra” expenses could easily be over $2,000 for a three day stay. Did you have very many guests not be able to attend because of the financial side of it?
My parents just celebrated their 50th anniversary last year. I wish the same for yours… One recommendation is for you to consider a cruise ship travel.
