How To Accessorize A One Shoulder Dress?

To accessorize a one-shoulder dress, consider choosing simple accessories such as statement earrings, rings, and bracelets. One-shoulder dresses often have unique cuts that show one arm while covering the other, either partially or completely. When choosing accessories, aim for balance and avoid heavy necklaces that clutter the neckline. For example, a green dress can be complemented with gold or neutral-toned accessories, while a brown belt and brown shoes create a balanced look.

Experiment with silver or white accessories for a fresh and vibrant style. Grab your favorite off-the-shoulder dress, along with a comfortable pair of pants or leggings. For a polished look, use a corsage as a substitute for a bracelet and consider using the neckline of your sequin dress to guide your decision. Short solid-colored necklaces or short solid-colored necklaces are ideal.

For an off-the-shoulder mini dress with a choker, pair it with strappy suede heels and a choker that matches the design of your shoes. A colorful scarf in a vibrant pattern or bold color can add a burst of color and personality to your white dress. Be careful with your underwear, wearing a strapless bra underneath and ensuring it doesn’t show in the back. Strapless wedding gowns are easy to accessorize with oversized jewelry, sleeve attachments, and added layers.

Complete your one-shoulder dress look with statement earrings and elegant clutches. Be careful with your underwear, wear it in a solid color, don’t cover it up, and choose the right hairstyle. By following these tips, you can create a polished look for your one-shoulder dress.

Convertible/multiway bras let you change the straps’ direction and number. You can use one strap for a one-shoulder dress, but if you’re busty, you may need both for support. Wrap both straps over the covered shoulder. Done! A hidden bra under your one-shoulder gown!

Strapless bras/bandeaus don’t have straps! Bandeaus cover the bust well, while strapless bras usually provide more support. Both strapless bras and bandeaus are hidden from view, which is perfect for dresses with one-shoulder necklines.

Strapless corset bras/bustiers are for girls who want to skip the straps but need extra support. The corset or bustier shapes the waist, so the bra cups get extra support, even without the straps.

  • Great informative content! That red halter top is divine on you. And those two statement necklaces…always bring out a tinge of envy. They were the perfect pieces to get your point across. Another element is hair up or down~That last years look from your cabin porch in a black tneck, pony and statement earrings is a great look. That’s what I love about perusal your tutorials, is they stick with you. Next time I am dressing I just think back in my Busbee Style memory rolodex and viola the answer to what I question is there. Thanks for the quality deposit style nuggets! XO

  • Great article Erin, I have just started perusal your articles streaming to my television at home and subscribed. I have just purchased my wedding jewelery for my wedding dress and reception dress. I do prefer long simple necklaces and the same with earings, I am only 5ft 1 inch so I feel if something is too large it just looks odd no matter what I am wearing. I do also love my sparkle. I have so much jewelery and only wear it over the weekends, as I work full time then teach fitness classes every evening and weekends, it saves taking everything off before getting hot and sweaty ha xxx

  • This is super helpful! I am in a serious jewelry rut. Same dangly gold earrings, same gold cuff, same brown beads stacked on my wrist. And if they don’t work with my shirt, I tend to go without jewelry. Which leads to a very dull day for me! Love my sparkle. I’m inspired to break out some old pieces and play around! Thanks for this one!

  • I couldn’t sleep last night so I binge watched a lot of your articles when you popped on my feed! I was inspired by your bravery to do a gap year. We have similar paths. I live in Fort Worth in a big house but have been in love with Creede Colorado, where we went every summer my entire life. It’s a tiny town with so much spirit. My husband and I work at home and could move anywhere but the difference is we have kids in high school and a 28 year old who just had a baby. We are tied here for a bit. I am so glad that you guys followed your heart while your kids were young enough. Most people let an opportunity like that fly by but y’all grabbed it and conquered it. 🙂 So excited for you all. Anyway, love the articles, subscribed to the blog. Can’t wait to catch up on all your articles and live vicariously in Telluride with you. LOL. Do lots of articles as Christmas comes for those of us still in Texas!

  • Hi Erin – Thanks for the tips! How do you free about matching earring and necklace sets? I have a couple but now that i’m more mature in my styling, I’m thinking I should wear together. So then I have a dilemma… what else can I wear with this necklace? I wonder such things as, can I mix finishes? Example – antique black metal necklace (with purple beads) with matte slate metal earrings?

  • Great advise, Erin, I totally agree with everything you said! I have very short hair so my go to look most of the time is a great statement earring and no necklace at all. If I do wear a necklace then I will choose a smaller pair of earring to go with it. Also with being a short hair, girl and I am only 5′ 3 1/2″ tall so I think it’s too overpowering for my shorter frame to wear too much jewelry all at once! LOL this is only my opinion…..LOL

  • Great article, Erin!!! I am doing so much better about not piling it all on at once. I have a big bold real piece of turquise but it is in a silver…western feel. I love it, but never know what to wear it with. I thought maybe a simple white long sleeve. Could u tell your viewers where you got that gorgeous white long sleeve shirt..oh all your clothes are gorgeous in this segment!

  • Love your blue sweater w your blonde hair! So pretty on you! Question; Would you pair those raffia earrings w a sweater? To me it is the wrong season, but I might be wrong… 😂 These types of questions pop into my head, when I try things on. I’m just not sure, whether we can mix things up like that? Help!🤔 Am I over complicating this?🤣

  • I remember years ago when everyone was wearing big 80’s jewelry and someone on Oprah said before you leave the house, you should always remove one piece of jewelry. Of course these days, I can’t imagine we have quite the same issues, but this was a great idea for a article. I wish that there were more earrings that clipped on. I have one earlobe that is completely ripped and can’t wear all the cute earrings I love. I will have it fixed eventually but until then, it really does affect my style. I would actually like to warn all of you beauties to be careful about this. Our skin looses elasticity and our lobes tear easily. Be weary of heavy earrings ladies!
