📹 Wedding Objections – Saturday Night Live
WNBA athlete Alberta (Leslie Jones) and White Castle owner Ian (Martin Freeman) are getting married no matter what anyone …
That first slap is just… perfect. Leslie looks SO freaked out, and Emma is just spot on in her polite menace: I hope she comes back to host again. My second favorite moment is Leslie getting punched for using the knife–I think this might be my absolute favorite Leslie Jones sketch, and she has SO many good ones.
Leslie Jones actually plays a low status character and nobody has anything bad to say about her. She did really well, and I feel like she should do it more often. No disrespect, but since she’s so “tough” looking, she keeps getting roles as that “black woman who will beat your ass”. And don’t get me wrong, that’s funny, but it’s also good to go for a few subversions every once in a while.
I’d love to have a full film about this plot. The meet-cute at the combination restaurant, the presumed hilarious series of misunderstandings that lead into active deception where she thinks he’s the king of England, why it even had to come up that she “definitely doesn’t have 10 kids” for that to also be active deception as opposed to lying by omission, the fact that they have had sex 50 times in Alberta’s apartment in the past five days and when exactly the shattered penis event happened through all that, how exactly his wife FIRST found out about all of this or if this is the first time he’s seen her since meeting Alberta, maybe even a time skip where we see the gruesome murder. I have so many questions.
if I understood correctly in the 5 days they were together: he left his wife, they spent their time getting laid to the point she sent him to the emergency room, he then where he spent 10 hours on an operating table and he’s recovered enough to get married ? He has to at least helped with the wedding preparations in relation to the invitations.
“I don’t know these people. I was just walking by and I caught a very brief glimpse of these two through the window. Now, I am a mild-mannered person. I don’t speak in groups, I don’t get involved. But when I saw these two, every hair on my body stood up, and said ‘EVELYN! GET IN THERE AND SHUT. IT. DOOOOWN.'” I love this!!!
I need this in a movie form! I need it like air! I never knew I needed Leslie Jones and Martin Freeman this much! I do now! Action comedies, fantasy, and even Marvel Superhero movies I don’t care!
