The white wedding dress, a common tradition in the western world, originated with Anne of Brittany and Louis XII of France in 1499. It became popular in 1840 when Queen Victoria married Prince Albert. Today, the white wedding dress represents purity, new beginnings, innocence, and the bride’s hope for a happy married life, prosperity, health, and eternal love.
The color white has various meanings and associations, depending on the individual and their culture. White connotes brightness, goodness, purity, innocence, and virginity, making it the perfect color for traditional and modern wedding ceremonies. Ivory is increasingly preferred over white, as it symbolizes purity, innocence, and a need for emotional healing.
The dream of wearing a white wedding dress can indicate a desire for new beginnings, transformation, and a fresh start. It can also represent purity, innocence, and a need for emotional healing. Alternatively, it can symbolize a desire for social status or recognition.
Ivory is associated with purity and innocence of girlhood, and the unsullied heart she now yields to the chosen one. Thanks to Queen Victoria and Godeys Ladys Book, white has become the go-to choice for brides on their wedding day.
White wedding dresses have evolved over time, with white being associated with wealth and status rather than virginity. The Greeks used white robes to symbolize youth, joy, and purity, but the white wedding dress has not always been fashionable. Today, white or ivory are often worn as a dress of ceremony and ritual, rather than a dress of fashion.

Wow🙌🙌🙌 I’m just working up from a wedding dream. I dreamt trying on a white weeding dress, I was happy and wearing it. It perfectly fitted me but the hands where a bit long but again they had had to fit from nowhere. I also had two more white dresses to try on, despite being alone in that room I was excited about getting married and I looked into the mirror and told myself this will be a secret. People will only know the actual day.
I didn’t have the dream. But my friend who is like a mother to me dreamed that I was wearing the wedding dress. She said that she believes it will happen because she felt it in the dream that it was so real. And she described my wedding dress and that I was so happy. I have been desiring to get married for a very long time. And I’m getting old. I don’t understand the long delay. I have fasted, prayed, and cried to God I desire to get married to a godly man. But my heart gets so tired of waiting sometimes. I have done battle prayers and fasting over the years so I don’t know if this dream from my mother friend still means I will get married. I feel giving up at times. I’m a prayer warrior but it causes my heart to faint at times of my weakness. Please pray for me. 🙏🏻🙏🏻😢
I dreamt of woman in a wedding dress but I “think?” she was an older woman. Then I think she was sitting next to another woman like maybe sisters, also in a wedding dress. What concerned me is that, traditionally in my people it is a negative omen. But, I am a Christian and I want to believe in what Jesus says about dreams not traditional, false religions, psychics etc. I cannot help to feel that it was old women in beautiful white wedding dresses. I am 56 so I do not know if it had anything to do with that or me. I was not in either dress and do not believe I knew or know these women

Hi, I dreamt I was dressed in a wedding dress and holding a bouquet but I was sitting at the pews. There were other women dressed the same. They came down the aisle in the church and I stood up to join them. I didn’t see any grooms but the church was full of people. Later, I couldn’t find my shoes but then later found them. They were beautiful wedding shoes. What could this mean?
