I wish I’d gone with a group so I could enjoy the atmosphere more. The concert had good visuals and sound, and was well balanced. Overall, it was a great experience. Can a 11 year old go to a concert?

Age doesn’t matter. It depends on the child, not their age. Some 2-year-olds can sit still, but some 12-year-olds can’t. Know your child’s attention span. Start with smaller concerts for younger kids and classical music. These concerts are shorter and have more variety to keep kids engaged. Baby Got Bach (babygotbach.org/) teaches kids 3-6 years old to pay attention and listen. Teach good manners. Tell them this is a special event for grown-ups. Go over the rules, like being quiet and paying attention. Wear nice clothes to show this is a special event.

Listen to the music ahead of time. Practice at home.

  • Honeymoon was my fave album from her before NFR and is still my second favorite to this day. High By The Beach was released on my 16th birthday so it will always hold a very special place in my heart. Experiencing this era in real time was such a special experience. The mystery and intrigue around her was at an all time high it felt, between all of her unreleased music, I feel like this was a time that really crystallized her fans. Such an underrated album for the true Del Rey fans.

  • I like to say that Honeymoon is the perfect mix between BTD and UV. Basically every song in it could become a UV track with an electric guitar and drums, especially with the dark lyrics. But the violins, along with some vintage instrumental, bring back the glamour of BTD. Also, from a dark point of view, if BTD was Lana’s hopes and dreams (both the persona and the singer) and UV was her rage and dark past, HM was her exhaustion and pain 🙁

  • Honestly I think Honeymoon is so bloody underrated! It’s so beautiful & she really pushed the Hollywood noir aesthetic to its furthest point on this era & it is so cinematic & beautiful. I think that the title track is the best album opener ever in regards to setting the scene for a record as a body of work! It is breathtaking. I wish it got the respect it deserved outside of the hardcore fans who recognise it’s brilliance.

  • “Music to watch boys to” is my must have for a lazy overheated summer sunday when you don’t have to lift a finger all day. It’s that ultimate kind of vibe. Apart from this song I always had a problem with rest of the album, it was okay, but for years it’s been my least favourite. Recently it started to grow on me a little, the sound was always kinda mysterious to me and now I’m having fun revealing this mysteries one by one in each song 🙂 It’s definetely not the album that one recommend to start journey with Lana, I understand it way better now than I used to back then.

  • Honeymoon is a wonderful album that mostly suffered for the crime of following up two of the most incredible records of all time. People often miss(ed) Lana’s sense of humour, like inverting the story of Easter in ‘GKIT’ with her ‘On Monday they destroyed me, But by Friday I’m revived’, or having The Blackest Day and 24 back to back. As usual, singers are expected to either be sassy or sad in any particular song, but never both, and Lana has no time for such restrictions. She also makes fun of music article conventions in High By The Beach by having her run up the stairs interrupted by getting her nightgown caught on the bannister (foreshadowing? lol) and then pulling out a weapon that is clearly bigger than the guitar case it was previously in. People sometimes connect her to David Lynch, but they hardly ever do it because of both her (and his) sly comedy, and use of actual dream logic.

  • for me, honeymoon is the kissland (least streamed the weeknd album) of her discography. in the first-2nd listen you might not get into it, but on the 3rd one you’re hooked. that was what happened to me. honeymoon is so beautiful, cinematic and colorful. i love how she uses the words blue, because i think that describes her songs, but not only in a “sad” blue, (the blackest day, terrence) but also in a chill/mellow or intense blue. (salvatore, high by the beach, music to watch boys to, freak)

  • Honeymoon came out during my senior year in HS and it has never wavered being the most masterfully crafted album. The vocals in God Knows I Tried, Salvatore, and 24 were stunning too hear on the first listen being 16. Art Deco is my personal religion. The airy jazz and heavy beats are like crashing waves on a moody ocean day looking out at the impressive sea🖤✨

  • my first lana album! i remember listening to it in full at 12 years old and thinking i was so grown up lol. i love how obscure this one is compared to the rest of her music, but still had all of us in a massive chokehold. i forget about this one because i’m too into her later music now, but will always be a classic worth revisiting. cant wait for the LFL article!

  • You called High By the Beach “High AT the Beach” twice, but then you did it again like 3 times. At first I thought it was just a small mistake, but when the 3rd “High AT the Beach” mentioned, it sounded like it was intentional 😅 i mean.. lol nevermind. You did a great review BY the way. (wrote the “by” in capital in case you really forgot it was high by the beach lol). Can’t wait for the next review, keep doing what you’re doind ✊🏼

  • Such a cool article. I’d love to see a article of you telling us what your fave artists are. No big history, no deep dive, just who do you like most. Yes, I’ve seen your vids and I know who your big faves are (Carly Rae Jepson, Taylor Swift, Charli XCX etc) but I think it would be super cool to see a list. Regardless, I really like your vids. Have a good day!

  • I think when this album came out it was the first time I had my own money and I ended up buying the cd version, the tape version and I almost got the vinyl version but my mum convinced me not to. But I loved the album so much I carried a tape player around for the next couple of years listening to this on repeat ❤️

  • I found it interesting that you mentioned that this was one of those albums that you didn’t realize how much you loved about it until you went back and took a second listen, because that’s exactly what happened in my experience too. Perhaps it was the difference in sound between Ultraviolence and Honeymoon that initially made me skim over some of these songs, but after going back, I’ve come to love almost every single song this album has to offer. It was a similar situation that I had when initially listening to Chemtrail Over The Country Club. And my love for Lana was reason enough to go back to songs I wasn’t initially into, and sure enough I stumbled on some more treasures for sure. I have all but two of the songs from this album in my Spotify collection.

  • I was perusal your articles in order but skipped right away to this one when I saw the thumbnail. I wholeheartedly agree. The whole album is amazing. It got me through the toughest times of my late teens. Even now, listening to a single track transports me back to those times and reminds me of all the stuff I got through. It’s really powerful album.

  • This has been such a great series leading up to Did You Know There Is A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd? Curious to hear your thoughts on Lust For Life–an album generally decried by ‘many’ fans as populist, but I think it is the album where Lana became a self-aware artist, able to reflect on herself and the world around her (“Isn’t life crazy now that I’m singing with Sean’)…Thank you for this series nonetheless. 🙂

  • This is actually my sentimental favorite album of Lana. Filled with magnificent poetry. God Knows I Tried is my top fave on this album, it feels that I am a protagonist of a Quentin Tarantino movies. My top 3 fave album; Ocean Blvd, Blue Banisters and NFR. Born to Die and Honeymoon are my sentimental fave as Born to Die the title track is the behind reason of my love to Lana del Rey and Honeymoon was released on my birth month which that time I was in my down moments in life and this album helped me a lot. 😭

  • Have to say Honeymoon was a for sure grower album for me. I didnt truly appreciate it until 20/21 sadly. Still not my favorite Lana album but I have a lot more respect for her than I used to. However I will say I still think High by the Beach sucks ass. LoL Just a very basic, repetitive song from her. Another track I dont understand why was chosen as an official single.. Dont care for God Knows I Tried either. There are typically speaking, a couple songs (per album) that leave little to be desired or kinda ‘miss’ and for Honeymoon.. I’d say its these 2 and after The Blackest Day, you aint missing much. Swan Song’s not half bad. I just dont find Honeymoon as poignant as a lot of her other works. It wasnt as definitive as BtD or UV. It also sucks that Ultraviolence was the last album that had a deluxe version with bonus tracks. 💔 Edit: I had no idea 24 was meant to be the Bond song for Spectre! That is definitely a fun fact. I do think the song is somewhat underwhelming for a Bond opener though. I’ve always found the title track to be her most Bond appropriate song. Just have 007 get married in the next movie. Maybe kill off the bride for tragedy’s sake and boom.. There ya go, Honeymoon fits.

  • This version of Honeymoon is superior. Her magnetic drawl at the come down of every verse is incredible and the electric guitars and drums that come in at the chorus. Omg. The way Lana literally exudes such a captivating vibe that she can sit there in a chair and hold everybody’s attention effortlessly. A literal siren.

  • I love how lana has developed her style that you cant put her just in “pop music”. When you take time to listen her albums and how she bring her universe in her concerts with her amaizing band you just cant say “lana, one more pop girl in the industry”, her music touch a lit bit of dream pop, barroco music, rock music, she brings a dark and delicate atmosphere. Thats why a lot of media call her “alternative artist”. Lana del Rey not only makes pop lyrics that sound good, but she is an artist who has a wide catalog of narrative references, she evokes emotions, cities, specific scenes that she narrates, because she is a very good storyteller. weaves very interesting stories. His music is immersive and dense, as well as delicate and fragile. There are a lot of good artist out there wiyh good songs but only few have their own brand, and that is what make their music timeless and not just “the music of the moment” they trascend. And lana has has trascended now with 8 albums.
