Did they find Bethany’s arm?
The next day, Laird Hamilton called his father, the legendary surfer/fisherman Billy Hamilton, and told him to kill the shark or he would. Fourteen days later, Billy and Ralph Young brought a fourteen-foot tiger shark with a ragged dorsal fin to the beach. They used a five-foot gray shark as bait and a big hook. Butchering it offshore, they found no evidence of Bethany’s arm, watch, or surfboard. The shark would have regurgitated the irritating stuff and probably the arm with it. However, matching the jaws to Bethany’s board was a perfect fit. The only other part of the shark that was saved was a piece of its skin. The skin was given to Boy Akana, a local shaman, who made a drum to calm the seas. Governor Lingle said the matter was closed and the tourist industry should “get back to normal.” Seven days later, Bethany Hamilton visits Ralph Young’s house with her dad Tom. She goes to see the shark that bit her arm. She crouches beside the bloody things in the middle of the lawn. They come up to her shoulder. The men stand around awkwardly as she touches the sharp teeth one by one. Then she looks up at Billy and asks if she can have some teeth for a necklace. An amulet to protect her. The men are so shocked, they don’t speak. Bethany said to herself, “I hope I don’t have dreams.”

I just rewatched this movie tonight and it made me feel like a kid again. I remember how imaginative I used to be… Nothing was ever what it WAS. A pen was a rocket ship for mini aliens… A car was a plane… A tree was a skyscraper waiting to be scaled… A bicycle was a jet powered race car… I can’t believe I grew up, dude. I lost that spark.
Remember listening to this on repeat in elementary school and feeling so connected to it. I’m 26 now and revisiting it actually reminds me to “believe in what I see” meaning my intuition and what I can see spiritually beyond this state of existence. Now I see why I connected to it as a kid so much 🦋
Have you ever seen the sky so Beautiful, colorful Wide and wonderful Have you ever felt the sunshine so Brilliantly raining down Oh the unity Have you ever wanted more? Wanted more? You’ve got to keep your mind wide open All the possibilities You’ve got to live with your eyes open Believe in what you see Think of all the days you’ve wasted Worrying, wondering Hopelessly hoping Think of all the time ahead Don’t hesitate, contemplate No it’s not too late Have you ever wanted more? Wanted more? Don’t you know there’s so much more You’ve got to keep your mind wide open All the possibilities You’ve got to live with your eyes open Believe in what you see Tomorrows horizons full of surprises Don’t let them take your dreams away You’ve got to keep your mind wide open All the possibilities You’ve got to live with your eyes open Believe in what you see You’ve got to keep your mind wide open All the possibilities You’ve got to live with your eyes open Believe in what you see You’ve got to keep your mind wide open Believe in what you see You’ve got to live with your eyes open Believe in what you see
Keep Your Mind Wide Open. A.K.A. Annasophia Robb’s First-Ever Song From The 2007 Movie Bridge To Terabithia (The First And Only Annasophia Robb Song Of Her Short Music Career Long Before The Carrie Diaries As Young Carrie Bradshaw) And 15 Years Later The Legacy Of Keep Your Mind Wide Open Will Live On
Thanks. I think people like Leslie teach important lessons, like the ones Jess comes to learn at the end of the movie. OK, so Leslie is fictional, but fictional characters like her have had a far bigger impact on my life, and have inspired me more than most real people. She really opened my mind, which I hadn’t really done since I lost my best friend, and she means a lot to me. And I guess I have Anna to thank for that. Thanks, Anna.
Damn dawg. That bridge! Tomorrows horizons. Full of surprises. Don’t let them take you dreams away. I had a massive crush on AnnaSophia when I was little. And I still have a crush on her. She’s beautiful. She’s a great actress. And has an absolutely angelic voice. That movie… To this day… Always breaks my heart.
This movie absolutely broke my heart when I saw it when I was little. I still can’t watch it to this day because it’s just too sad; I remember perusal it a while back and I was upset for about a week afterwards. It’s so frustrating because the movie is just beautiful and it has to be wrecked by such a bad ending. The author of the book is to blame for that, but Disney could have gotten around this.
I remember on the fifth grade my teacher told us to read a book for christmas and write its meaning and how it touched us.. I’ve never, never been touched by a story so much. It taught me not to take everything for granted and that I should spend more time with people who really care about me. I watched the movie right after I read the book and I couldn’t decide what was better. Its been almost seven years since I first watched it, today I watched it again and will continue perusal it, cause its really worth it. I swear it’s the only movie ever that made me cry
I was falling in love when I saw her the first time in Charlie and the chocolate factory as Violet.. I was 7 Years old and with 10 I saw this movie… Was/is my favourite actor of all time and this movie broke my heart when i heard she died… It was one the of the biggest sadness i’ve ever feeld when i was a child.. But i still ove this movie and anna sophia robb as an actor.. she changed my life and my world.. you were one of my geatest inspirations
Just watch the movie with total innocent mind like you know nothing. I just watched Bridge to Terabithia few days ago.Well, somehow I really felt depressed, sad and heavy.Actually don’t know why. Also I like Anna because of her cuteness in BTT(maybe have a crush on her). And still sometimes I feel like I’ll cry .Yeah, that’s the movie. That’s is something that I can’t express in language.
Wow this article was uploaded ten years ago. So that means it was ten years ago when I used to play it over and over again. I was obsessed with her. From that moment I watched Because of Winn Dixie, I’d been a fan. Then I went to college and forgot all of it. And now I’m here again. Ten years.. wow. She makes me miss my childhood.
Rewatch this movie make me realize my childhood was the happiest times of my life. I used to have friend like Leslie we used to play make-believe and go on adventure most of the time, but now she’s forget who I am maybe doesn’t recognize me anymore. Btw, this movie is so tear-jerking make me thinking the past and how or when my childhood was over. I just hope that people still have imagination and dreams that make us alive in spirit & full of hopes ✌️
why does this music and music article still play in my head sometimes lol I remember I was in middle school back when this movie got released and I remember perusal this music article on Disney website during commercial breaks i get alot of memories from the past everytime I watch this And she gave me angelic vibes with this music lol
