Neither song was written for a wedding. German composer Felix Mendelssohn wrote the “Wedding March” for an 1842 production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. “Here Comes the Bride” was from Richard Wagner’s 1850 opera Lohengrin. The 1858 royal wedding is thought to have started the practice of a full choral processional from the church entrance to the altar and playing music as the bride walked up the aisle. This is a change from the usual practice of having music only at the reception. Ethnicity, Consumer Culture, and Family Rituals. The princess chose the music for her ceremony. • God… I remember when Faces came out in 2014. I graduated highschool that year. I went through a lot of loneliness and depression at the time and I used to listen to this song every day through my headphones while skating around my neighborhood and felt like I was in my own world. This song and Colors and Shapes mean so much to me

  • I remember the year this dropped, I must have just turned 18. Moved away from my home to the city, broke up with my gf who I was with from like 15, started getting into heavier drugs. This song would always make me cry at the time, it was a song that spoke my mind, as lame as that sounds, it really spoke my perspective, and it was my first time really letting someone I had feelings for go. I’ll never forget dropping acid for the first time and listening to this tape with friends, we must have listened to it on repeat for at least 4 hours. I just turned 26, and all that sad stuff is so insignificant now, but this song still hits. Life is a trip

  • This song exactly describes my first relationship from 18 to 20. We were very close, lived together, spent every hour of the day together. I sacrificed a social life and other adventures just to be with her. We both made a lot of mistakes. Became inconsiderate of each other’s struggles and imperfections. That and a lack of communication. It got ugly and ended very fast. I loved her a lot. I still think about her over a year later. Just ready for the next person to come along who I can love like that again. RIP Mac. Been listening to you since middle school. We all miss you.

  • This song always makes me think about my first true love. I was young and stupid. I cheated on her. Broke her heart. Broke my own. She set the bar so high, no woman has even come close to her. I still think about her to this day, and what we could have been. Perhaps it’s some sort of karmic justice that I haven’t been happy since I betrayed her. I will always love her. I hope one day our paths will cross again and she will take me back.

  • Crazy. Little less than a year ago a good friend of mine(god rest his soul) we were talking about how underrated this album was and that it deserved more recognition. I loved that we both carried the same love for Mac. I miss both of them dearly and I know they are both happy to see that this was made possible. R!P to them💖💖💖

  • The distortion sounding effect on the instrumental the entire time makes it sound like we somehow figured out a way to reach Mac in heaven… Like we finally found the right radio wave to speak to him….Like we are traveling through space and time flying through different dimensions…Almost all of Macs songs have some sort of feeling like this to me. This song makes me sad because the name of the song … Mac is absolutely one of the friends that I wouldve been immensely thrilled to see him happy marrying the love of his life.

  • Currently going through one of the hardest break ups I’ve ever had to go through almost 4 years together and got left from a phone call saying I just need to focus on myself right now and since then won’t give me the time of day for anything. “Fucking other girls wishing it’s you” 💔 in the end though like all my hard difficult times through life Mac is and has always been there for me. Missing you till the end of time Mac! We all miss you💔☮️

  • i appreciate every single thing about this song… every little detail has been perfected. Everything from the sound effects in the background to the emotion that you can hear in his voice gives me chills every time i listen. whenever this song starts there’s only one person that appears in my mind and she’s the most beautiful and incredible human being ive ever met. her eyes quite literally put me in a trance, her beauty is just so breathtaking and i thank god every day that this song exists, that mac was able to to preach what he did. Rest In Peace mac, your spirit will forever be a part of mine

  • Girl I loved moved on and is getting married soon. She dragged me along her situation for years always giving me hope. I’ve grown to accept it, but this song speaks to how I would feel about the situation better than I ever would of thought. I’ve listened to Mac for 10+ years now.. never stumbled upon this song until now. Feels soothing now, even tho the lyrics would tell otherwise. Much love Mac. Rest In Peace man.

  • Wedding always makes me think of my ex I loved her so much to this day I still do as much as I wish we found a way our love was toxic when I asked for my Good AM CD back she scratched the back to hell ruined it she didn’t want to give it back is why I think we both loved his music but when we would listen to wedding off faces I swear time stood still around us and her energy would devour me I mean the way I was consumed I just don’t know how to explain it other than love I was deeply in love with her addicted to her nothing stood in my way whatever it took to be beside her and that was my biggest downfall I ruined myself making sure she was happy and when she was gone for good I looked around and had nothing nobody and i spiraled from there and even now looking back and finally getting back up I wouldn’t trade those moments for nothing because I am thankful that I experienced real love. L.M.D I still love you I hope you’ve lived to the fullest and I wish nothing but the best for you REMember, your dad loves you and is always looking over you. Godspeed✌🏻 -T.L.M 10-15-2021

  • Fuck Mac, You changed my life when i was at the bottom you layed your rhymes and made me escape reality, Miss you everyday homie. You got me through highschool you’re always gonna be a part of me and im gonna lay a hint of your style on everytrack i focus on, but noone can copy your style even if we try, Legend of our generation. forreal. so glad this project being released again its always gonna be one of my favs.

  • When I was younger I once cheated and it was between my girlfriend and one of my best friends. I loved both of them equally and ended up both telling them the truth The guilt I felt after losing both girls I love I relapsed too self harm and tried to overdose I ended up surviving it by a miracle of god. I ended up telling my family and they sent me to a psychward in the city for like a week I remember calling my ex everyday in there and on the 7th day she told me she slept with another guy. My best friend I lost who I also loved ended up passing away at 18 in a car accident. I regret the love I wasted and time is so short so always love the people in life because you never know when they aren’t gonna be here anymore And that weight alone hurts more than anything else in this world 🌎 Crazy how much a song can bring you back to a different time in your life. Miss you Mac wish you were still here bro. 🕊️💔

  • Sadly I only found out about Mac Miller around the time swimming came out by a friend. His death affected me so much only though I just barely knew of him…Mac was so relatable. He is the only person I feel could explain exactly what I was going through. Hope you are at peace my friend.. I’d love to shake your hand and thank you for everything you’ve done for me. Much love to you Mac & your wonderful family for allowing me to hear this masterpiece of an album for the first time

  • This song seems to be about Mac struggling to be with one girl as being a young high profile monogomous man in the hip-hop music scene is almost impossible. The temptation of having almost whatever you want is a tough cookie to crack. Especially when woman are so emotional and difficult so often. But when you in love, you in love. It’s polar opposites fighting each other internally and eventually externally.

  • dk if other people feel the same way but holy christ, the woman moaning at the beginning is depressing the sentence is probably pretty pleasurable to hear for the man, but all the pain and hurt that happens through every breakup, she just tells this guy that he’s the best, better than any man before maybe it’s just because i can see my ex saying something similar to her new partner, i know she said that to me shit man

  • Dear God who art in heaven, hallow be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, in Jesus Christ’s name we pray, amen.

  • at this point in my life, i’m looking back at the girls i parted ways with over the past few years. i remember being young and finding any reason to not like them anymore. but when i see the messages and exchanges i had with all of them i smile at all the good times. i look forward to being in love again and i’m on my way to finding love in my own voyage. i love that line ‘girl it’s me and you how simple is that; you gave me all of your love and i’m giving it back’. it’s so real
