Where should the bride and groom sit?. The bride and groom have the option to sit a sweethearts table together or at a bridal party table with all members of the bridal party sitting together. Some couples also opt to sit a table with the Best Man, Maid/Matron of Honor, their parents and their grandparents. Wherever they sit, the bride traditionally sits to the grooms left.
Where should the bridal party sit?. If you opt to have a bridal party table, the best man should sit to the brides left and the maid of honor sits to the grooms right. Many couples are opting to seat the bridal party with their spouses and significant others at tables near them.
Where should parents and grandparents of the bride and groom sit?. Depending on the size and shape of tables you have, its common to have a family table where the bride and grooms parents and grandparents sit together. Or, each set of parents can host their own table and be seated with close family and friends. In the case where parents are divorced, each parent can host their own separate table.

Who Sits Where. Traditionally, the newly-weds sit next to each other in the middle of the table, with the bride seated to the grooms left. Typically, the bride is sat next to her father, with her mother sitting next to her groom. The grooms father is then sat next to the brides mother, with his mother being sat next to the brides father. At the end of the table sits the maid of honour and the best man. The best man sits on the brides side and the maid of honour on the grooms. This keeps a nice male/female pattern going. However, this is definitely not mandatory.
This does ensure that you are all seated at one table for your first meal as an official family. This is the preferred option in the UK, as it doesnt look like youre picking favourites or ‘demoting close family members to a different table.

Who walks with who in a wedding?
So, whats an example? This would be considered a traditional order of walking down the aisle: start with the officiant and groom, followed by family members – grandparents, parents of the groom, and mother of the bride. Next is the wedding party, ring bearer, and flower girl. Lastly, the bride enters, escorted by the father of the bride.
Right away you might be thinking “Well, this wont work for me.” This traditional order assumes all parents are in the picture and grandparents are healthy enough to walk down the aisle. Notably, it assumes all aforementioned pairings are male-female couples which may not be the case for your family and wedding party.
When planning weddings, I encourage creating the processional order that is perfect to the couple, using a traditional order as merely a baseline to work off of. These are the questions and tips I share with couples when were designing their processional order. I will be using both “Groom / Bride” terminology as well as “Partner A / Partner B” for gender-neutrality. Partner A will simply refer to the first of you to enter, and Partner B will refer to the second.
How many people are on the dance floor?
About 1 in 3 guests at an event will dance, and youll need 10 dance floor panels for every 15 dancers. The table below uses these ratios.
Please note that how much dance floor you need per person depends on the type of dancing you or your guests will be doing. The ratios and table presented here work best for slower, more compact dances at weddings and the like. If youre planning on swing, polkas, waltzes, etc., please dont expect to be able to fit the number of dancers in the table.
