Does Sheldon And Amy Get Engaged?

Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler, the couple who got engaged in season 10, have been a part of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory. They had a slow courtship, with Sheldon proposing to Amy in season 10’s finale, The Long Distance Dissonance, and she accepting his proposal in season 11’s premiere, The Proposal Proposal.

The engagement was a memorable moment, but it also marked the start of the end for the show. Penny, who had an aggressive relationship with Ramona, pushed Sheldon to travel cross-country to propose to Amy. The engagement lasted for season and part of ten, and Amy and Sheldon finally got married in the May 10 season finale.

Amy’s parents and Sheldon’s family arrived to ensure all wedding arrangements went according to plan, except for the bride and groom. Sheldon mentioned speaking with Amy’s father, but viewers haven’t met much of Amy’s family yet. As their engagement continues, viewers will get to know her family better, especially as The Flaming Spittoon Acquisition takes place.

In season 11, Sheldon begrudgingly agrees to meet Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler, who warns him there won’t be any physical contact. Amy enthusiastically accepts Sheldon’s marriage proposal, and she has trouble deciding whether or not she should marry him. Bernadette confides in Penny when she finds out some huge news.

Season 11 was all about the engagement and the wedding, starting with Amy accepting Sheldon’s proposal and ending with their wedding day. It was better that Amy and Sheldon decided to be a couple again on their own and get engaged when the time was right.

  • I honestly think theirs was the best wedding of all of them. It was a beautiful scene and the jokes didn’t detract from it. Howard and Bernadette’s wedding was cute but it felt ruined by all the opening statements, and Leonard and Penny’s wedding (ceremony) there was too much going on with the guests. At least for Sheldon and Amy everyone was focused on then, like a wedding should be.

  • Pathetic. Weak writing, not funny, or touching. Cooper was unemotional and not focused on his wedding; Penny yelling at Mrs Fowler, was not only unfunny, but embarrassing and awkward to watch. Horrible writing and casting of Amy’s parents; they are written as stereotypes, not humans. The dress was ghastly. Mark Hamill looked unkempt and ridiculous . Probably the worst TV wedding I’ve ever seen

  • All the more deserving couples got their wedding half assed especially Leonard and pennys was horrible but Sheldon had a great wedding although he’s a self centered horrible friend all the group goes out of their way to do nice things for him and he barley appreciates any of it. Not fair in my opinion.
