Tanks can use Corrin well if you’ve done her paralogue. One of her skills stops chain attacks. Any Sage or Vidame can use Corrin’s Fire Vein to stall enemies. Mystical is good for Corrin, except for Dragon and Covert. I thought it was just about damage tiles, but fire actually stalls movement. It’s better than ice pillars because enemies can’t remove the flames. They can also use the Mag bonus and Thunder to apply Corrin’s Hexes from 3 tiles away.

Byleth likes Mystical units with Thyrsus. 2 can attack with magic. You can use Bolganone at 4 spaces or Thoron at 5. There are no penalties for using this range. The Magic Dance can help you if you’re fighting a boss with high defense but low resistance (like Ike and Hector). Cavalry can get into position to use the Dance more easily and have 10 Dexterity, which makes all their attacks hit. It also gives a small critical hit boost. It doesn’t make your units deal more damage, but it makes them more reliable. Aredhbar is a good weapon for turns before or after the dance.

With the release of Fire Emblem Engage, a new group of strong heroes has joined the Fire Emblem franchise. Some are stronger than others. Players take on the role of Alear, a dragon awakened from a 1,000-year slumber. They must collect 12 Emblem Rings to bring peace to the five realms of Elyos. The game is different because it includes Emblem Rings, which let characters use skills from Lords like Marth and Sigurd. This change to Fire Emblem makes engaged rings very valuable on the battlefield, especially when their base stats are already powerful. When Roy’s Emblem is engaged, Diamant can survive most attacks and damage enemies near his target. But he isn’t the only character with a skill set that works well with an Emblem Lord. These are the best units to use in Engage. Chloe is one of the best fliers in the game and a seasoned royal pegasus knight of Firene. Her skills are especially useful if she is upgraded into Fire Emblem Engage’s best Griffin Knight. She can move and attack quickly. The game is still about the characters, with each one having their own story. The stories between the main character and their followers are mostly romantic. The game features a marriage with the pact ring system. Once a player has units at A-rank, they can use a pact ring to make a unit S-rank. They can only do this once, and the cutscene shows it as an engagement. Fire Emblem Engage doesn’t limit pact rings by gender. All characters react the same to the proposal, regardless of the player’s gender. It depends on what the player wants. They won’t get the same mechanics from marriage, but they’ll still get character connections and chances for shipping.

Is Azura and Corrin canon?

No. Advanced classes are the only thing close to canon on this game. Not at all. Nothing is canon, but Corrin x Azura is teased a lot. The game favors Corrin marrying Azura. Please keep this alive for FE. It makes me smile. I don’t understand why.

Things can be pushed (like Chrom X Sumia), but there’s no official confirmation, so they’re not canon until there is. Abel leaving is canon. Arvis killing Sigurd is canon. Lucina being born is canon. Owain, Severa, and Inigo being born is canon. Even so, other children existing is canon. The children being assigned to specific mothers and fathers is canon.

  • Little tidbit about pair up that makes the usual 0 damage taken strats work more consistently is that enemies won’t take into account pair up when deciding whether they can do damage, so having your general or thief end their turn next to an enemy backup unit will cause every other enemy to decide they can deal damage to them even if they actually can’t.

  • In my experience, pair-up was pretty much one of the best tanking skills for emblem Ike users. Since Ike gives a lot of defensive bonus + damage reduction. Chain attacks from enemy backup end up chipping them a lot since it’s true damage. Being able to negate that makes your Ike user solo choke points and can pull safely with great aether. This was one of my main strategies on maddening.

  • I find Corrin to be the best ring to use on Alear. The +1 range of torrential roar is really nice, and the access to all the terrain effects makes him really flexible. I even found a very niche use for vines in my maddening run where vantage hold out wrath Panette could use them to get down to 1hp without being broken by the sword enemies that were attacking her

  • I wouldn’t underrate Corrin’s HP boost and give it a friendlier color than red. Sure, HP isn’t the greatest stat to increase, but Corrin’s jump is gigantic – +15 HP is a LOT, especially for magey types who normally go boom and risk getting one-rounded. Going from “ORKO’d” to “Can survive one enemy attack” is worth a lot!

  • Corrin is one of the best Emblems in the entire game. She’s an absolute must for Skirmishes since the entire map of enemies rush towards you on the first turn, putting her on a Mystical unit for the Flame Dragon Vein slows down so many enemies, as well as Dreadful Aura making skirmishes much more manageable.

  • I disagree hard with pair up not being useful. Most enemies still act on the fact they think the chip damage is valid for assist attacks tus attack into your units, which I think helps a lot in actually ensuring safer enemy phases while letting your bulkier units cook a lot more reliably on enemy phase. It benefits the really strong units on maddening really, really well.

  • Corrin my absolute beloved. I freaking LOVE utility in games like these and she’s absolutely chock full of it. Slapped her on Alear and just always got good use of her I do think it’s really strange that the dragon veins on corrin and Camilla are able to be used without engaging but byleth’s rally can’t. I mean heck, the stone pillars give the same defense and res as either rally equivalent would

  • I had a lot of fun with the fire dragon vein in chapter 19. My units were in the top part of the map, and when I used the fire on the choke point connecting to the middle part, several enemies decided to turn around and try to reach me through the larger road in the east of the map, because their pathfinding determined that, due to the high movement penalty of going through the fire, taking the longer route was quicker. But when I didn’t use the fire on the chokepoint next turn, they headed back towards it because it was the shortest path again. So I spend several turns making the enemies walk back and forth while killing those who were close enough to make it to my army, wittling down their numbers safely.

  • so pair up makes avoid tanking really good, normally enemies wont target you if they cant land a hit, but they will if a backup attack is possible and they wont take into consideration of pair up. Basically yunaka fog in front of infantry is a garunteed way of debuffing and stalling a huge crowd without taking damage.

  • I actually found Corrin’s Engage weapons to be very handy. It’s not that they’re good. But they synergize well with the Divine Dragon class. The main role here is to have flexibility with the dragon vein, and to apply debuffs through attacking without getting hit back. The Divine Dragon class gets fists and swords naturally, which means you can attack enemies with axes, tomes, or knives without getting hit back. The dual katana adds all lance using enemies to that list. And the Wakizashi adds all swords to that list except the Levin Sword. Combine with canter, this makes it so the only enemies Alear can’t attack and debuff without getting hit back are unbreakable enemies with 1-2 range, Levin Sword users and Wyrms.

  • If Byleth didn’t have Goddess Dance, I’d say Corrin is hands down the best Emblem in the game. AOE freeze has to be the most overpowered skill in the game outside of dance (and for regular dance it’s still kinda close). And with multiple dancers you can freeze an entire group of units to let your units kill them. Like I straight up would have lost chapter 17 if I couldn’t freely freeze enemy units. There are parts of this game I’m not even sure how you’d do on higher difficulties without Corrin. Side note: Dragon Vein removes Miasma which matters on the few maps that has it. I put it on Citrinne and would freeze a ton of units from 3 range with no fear of damage (though Torrential roar doesn’t do much on her). Once I got Celica back, I moved Corrin to Ivy for similar effect. She finally finished with Veyle so I could still do distance freezes while also actually being able to damage things with Torrential roar and had my pick of dragon veins. Final point: do the paralogue since your bond level can go up so you’re engaged for 4 turns instead of 3.

  • Ahh yes, the panic, Ill deal with you guys next turn emblem. I also like stun locking an enemy for 3 turns. I really like using defensive tanks even though they arent that good, so I really like pair up when I’m having fun, but its probably not that good. It is nice in the maps where the AI has like 5 heros though. The stats aren’t great, but it is your best +mag emblem for a while if you arent using dlc.
