I know it sounds dramatic, but it happened to me. I was shaving my eyebrows with an eyebrow razor when I noticed hairs sticking out of my right nostril. I put the razor in my nose and shaved it. It worked, but a few weeks later I noticed bumps on the edge of my nostril. I did what you probably would have done. I didn’t pay them any mind. Months later, a dermatologist noticed the rash and told me to get it checked. I had an MRSA infection! (I don’t know if the eyebrow razor caused it, but Turner says it’s possible.) It took months of medication to clear the infection, and I still get rashes sometimes. What’s the moral of the story? It’s safer to trim your nose hair than to shave it. It’s water-safe, so you can use it in the shower and clean it under water. After cleaning, DeZarate suggests using isopropyl alcohol to sanitize it. If you use 70 percent alcohol, you have to submerge it for a few minutes to kill bacteria. This can damage the blade and motor. DeZarate uses her trimmers a lot and needs a new blade every month. But with regular use,You can probably go three or four months between blades. Panasonic replacement blades are hard to find online. I was looking for a beard trimmer a few years ago. All my favorite youtubers pushed manscaped. Started perusal reviews. Not impressed. (Same exact story with raycon) then I found brio. Have been using it daily for years. Couldnt be more happy with it. Looking for a nose hair trimmer n see this. Wow. What a refreshing take. Could have trashed them all and said how great only yours was. But didnt. Even critiqued your own. Thats integrity. Seems a rare trait these days. Thank you. Made it an easy choice.
One point yoi6didnt mention is that the Brio has an aluminium body which is definitely a bonus, plastic bodies often break or the battery cap and incorporated on/off switch on some are usually the first part to break/fail. Also I’ve had many of these that have had the head unit containing the blade break its thread and needed sticky tape to hold it to the body. Great review, helpful. 🙂
I’ve had to throw away two trimmers with replaceable batteries now, one due to a battery leaking inside wrecking it (this seems to happen a lot recently I’m not sure if batteries are lower quality these days or what?) and one due to the contacts corroding up (possibly moisture or condensation got in?). And yet on the flip side during the same period my rechargeable toothbrush which gets a lot more use and abuse has been perfectly fine. So although I understand why you didn’t want to recommend rechargeable units, I’m not convinced replaceable battery units last longer.
Hate to tell you, but 45 is baby face compared to 58. You will be growing hair in places you aren’t at 45. You think you got hair growing out of your ears at 45, just wait another 10 years. I don’t like linear styles blades because they cut too close and you are primed to having in grown nose hairs which are awful. You want to trim them back, not cut them to the skin.

I’m getting the Panasonic and the manscape, I know having two may sound indulgent, but one is for me in my home, the other I will leave at my mother’s for when I go to stay with her, I always like to look well presented for l my mum. Just read the comment below, I’ll probably go for two Panasonic ones in that case
