The Ancient Magus Bride is a series about Elias Ainsworth, a magus and his bride Chises, who are immersed in his world of ancient magics and creatures. The story revolves around Joseph, a Sorcerer who fused with Cartaphilus, becoming cursed with immortality. Chise Hatori, a 15-year-old Japanese girl, was sold for five million pounds at an auction to a tall masked gentleman. She was abandoned at a young age and ridiculed by her peers for her unconventional behavior.
Chise Hatori is a Sleigh Beggy and one of the main protagonists of the series. She is the apprentice and bride of Elias Ainsworth. She is a rare type of human with the ability to generate and absorb a large quantity of magical energy, but has a shorter lifespan. Sleigh Beggies have a natural affinity towards the fae and other supernatural entities.
Elias Ainsworth is a Mage made of both Fae and human elements, and he is the purchaser and magic teacher of Chise Hatori. He is a reaper, and he is not afraid of death now that he knows he is not alone. As Joel nears death, he voices his fears to Elias while Chise overhears.
Chise has strong feelings for an old man named Joel Garland, but denies that they were in love as love would mean his inevitable death. Chise absorbs the magic from the dragon, and Elias absorbs the magic from Chise. Chise asks whether she loves Joel, and the vampire adamantly denies it.
The Ancient Magus Bride has spent a cour to give Joel one more moment before his death. However, when he realizes it is rotting, he disconnects it from his body, causing the arm to fall to the ground and decompose into fleshy sludge.

Why did Joel have to die?
Video game fans knew not to fall too hard for Pedro Pascal‘s Joel while watching the first season of HBOs “The Last of Us” adaptation (although that was all but impossible given Pascals acclaimed performance). In the video games sequel, “The Last of Us Part II,” Joel is shockingly murdered in the first act of the game by Abby, the daughter of the Firefly surgeon Joel killed in order to let Ellie live. Joels death sets Ellie up on a mission of revenge against Abby.
When HBO announced at the end of January that “The Last of Us” would be renewed for Season 2, video game fans knew that meant the demise of Pascal was on the way. But is HBO really going to let “The Last of Us” team kill off the shows most beloved and high profile star?
“It wouldnt make sense to follow the first game so faithfully only to stray severely from the path,” Pascal recently told Esquire magazine about prepping for his Season 2 fate. “So, yeah, thats my honest answer.”

This anime… this anime might’ve singlehandly convinced me to finally start writing. It is that good, and I am so glad for it and moving moments like these. And a small thing, one small thing I love about this anime and this scene: they took blazing red, snake-slit pupiled eyes… and made them one of the most beautiful things in the world,
The way he turned to dust, as he fades away, as the gentle caress of the wind carried him, that’s what I felt when someone I held dear the most died. Inside of my existence, tends to remind me that day, when a part of me has lost turned to crumbled dust of nothingness, but the memories will stay, from what it’s left of it just simply reminding your heart to break into pieces and your mind fell into the oblivion that reality has nothing you felt so warm, yet we stay in our fantasy, this what my mind telling me from this farewell of a love of an eternal rose from the withered gardener.
I am so sorry for whoever watches it and read this comment… if you look at her crying after Joel says “That, by itself gave my life a push against the inertia” you will notice the tears running down her left cheek (Our right hand side) that the animators just played the same animation over and over… I just watched this one day and noticed that and now I can’t unsee it so if I cant unsee it you can’t either… enjoy 🙂
This show continually surpasses expectations. In other animes, when you see a scantily clad woman and man you think of something else. In this situation though, you are left with tears in your eyes and what feels like a gouge in your chest. A bright, cheerful garden scene but instead you say goodbye to someone you love. This show defies your expectations.
The Gift of Men was an act of the supreme being Ilúvatar that set the race of Men apart from the Elves. While the race of Elves would know the most bliss and contentment and would conceive more beauty than any others of the Children of Ilúvatar, it was decreed by this gift that Men would be the prime instruments of Ilúvatar within Arda. Ilúvatar willed that the spirits/hearts of Men are not content within Arda, and find no rest therein, and therefore seek beyond the world and its confines. They are not bound to the Circles of the World, as the Elves and all other creatures of Arda are bound to the Earth. The spirits of Men truly leave the physical world, and do not return. Thus their fates are completely sundered from that of the Elves, who do not die until the world dies, unless slain by violence or ill chance, or by wearying at the last of the passage of centuries. But as the years grow long and Time wears, even the Valar will come to envy the gift of Ilúvatar to the race of Men, that of liberation from the physical world, and the inevitability of loss and sorrows that must come with this existence within Arda. Moreover, it is also a consequence of this true spiritual freedom of not being bound to either the ordinance of Fate, or the confines of the World that the spirits of Men do not dwell long in Arda, and after what seems to be a very short time to the immortal Elves, men age, grow weary, and die. However, a key aspect of this gift of living within Arda for a short time was a virtue instilled into the race of Men to be motivated to create destinies for themselves amidst the powers and chances of the world.
